Ali was ahead on the scorecards at the time he KO'd Foreman! The Chavez comeback against Taylor was dramatic but in a way you could see it coming as in the later rounds Julio started turning it round and walking down Meldrick. Froch against Jermain Taylor was some comeback, as that fight was clearly going easily to Taylor until the knockdown and subsequent stoppage. Something with the Taylor surname and late stoppages when winning fights! Another good one was Julian Jackson aganst Herol Graham. Jackson was getting schooled for 3 and a bit rounds until he unleashed an immortal right hand to knock Graham out cold for several minutes! :bbb [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpbVYeqgROw&feature=related[/ame]
Shhhhh.....dont tell the truth around here it. Some people still think Margarito only cheated that one time....cause he's an honest cheater and all.
The Brewster comeback was more impressive imo because of the absolute beating he walked thru to get that win. He deserved it.
we're comparing two fights here, not the best come backs we've seen, what Haye haters wont admit is that Hyae was splattering Thompson all over the show, had him spaghetti legging all over the ring , and Thompson came back valiently(as he has done countless times against inexperienced, overconfident opponents), but he didnt KO Haye, he put on the pressure after Haye gassed, and Haye was stopped on the feet, while still waving Thompson in.
Thank you. I rewatched the bout this morning. Haye's corner threw in the towel. In the post fight interview, David was extremely respectful, didn't look for excuses at all. BTW, the interviewer congratulated Thompson on his win. Did he say "Thank you" or "**** you"?
Hayes corner threw the towel in because they could see what was going to happen had the fight continued.Thompson was always a slow starter, and easy to hit.Haye went gung ho trying to impress the fans and media by KO'ing Carl,he blew himself out,and could have been on the receiving end of a brutal stoppage, thankfully his corner put a stop to it,before any real damage was done. Make no bones about it,Thompson would have punched Haye senseless had the fight not been stopped.Haye had nothing left.
Haye, like one Naseem Hamed before him, thought his punching power could win any fight for him, all he had to do was show up, when Thompson started staggering around from one side of the ring to the other, yet would not go down, Haye started to panic. Thompson sucked it up and started battering Haye, but Haye didn't fold, he didnt take a knee and bow out like a *****, he waved Thompson in just as the ref dove in front of him to stop the fight. Like Khan vs Prescott, thompson vs haye was the best thing that could have happened to david
