More "Shot" Fighter: 33-Year-Old Judah Or 38-Year-Old Mosley?

Judah didn't look shot to me. Khan looked like he was going to outclass him to me, and he did.

Judah can still do all the same things he's shown in his past few fights, and that by definition is not shot.

Mosley on the other hand...jeeze

 

Mosley was the best option for floyd to fight at the time. It is with hindsight we can see he's shot.

Best way to judge it, compare mosley v oscar 1 with mosley of late. Compare judah of spinks 2 with judah of late.

Judah isn't much removed from what he was. Mosley is a shell.

So, both Martinez and Pacquiao managed to fight Margarito, yet Mayweather never did. I wonder why?

 

The Sergio Martinez that Margarito fought had only been a professional fighter for 3 years. Sergio Martinez didnt start boxing until his 20's.

If this current version of Sergio Martinez fought the Margarito Pac fought, he would have KO'd him in 7 rounds.


Its laughable that you would call that Sergio Martinez a Pound for Pound contender. Or even claim it as a good career win for MArgarito.

It should be abundantly clear to anyone that martinez is many many levels above margo. If a fight got made today it would be called a mismatch.

 

both were past prime, obviously Shane was older & much more past it, in fact you could say he was shot, BUT on the Flip side Shane was a great fighter in his day, and was very good even in his mid 30s, while Zab was NEVER great.

 

Floyd and HBO opted to fight someone else. To which they offered Margarito a fight but he turned it down since he was tied to a less than 15k buys PPV with Arum

He was 3 months out, which was plenty of time to rest, and restart a training camp.

 

Money brutally ruined both Zab and Shane.

Then as always, a Freddy Joke Coach Roach fighter (A mere Con / PacGwire) takes the leftover scraps.

 

Margarito was offered the fight, turned it down.


And later on, Arum who hates Mayweather even admitted that while Floyd would of taken the 8 million to fight Margarito (after Floyd beat Judah) but didn't want to sign himself to a Top Rank deal again.

 

Same reason Pac went on to fight Erik Morales after he loss to Raheem.

 

THe Mosley that beat Margo turned back the clock.. THe one who lost to Cotto and beat Mayorga was faded but still a damn good fighter,he was still elite or close... THose versions of Shane are better than anything weve seen from Zab.


But the one who drew with Mora,, ANd got spanked by floyd and Manny? Hes Shot and IMO maybe a lower top 10 contender type, and thats only cause of his power and experience..

Zab ireflexes arent as faded as Shanes... But Hes still a mental weakling with a shaky chin... Like Shane he maybe top 10 and thats being generous...

I would not consider Judah a "Shot" fighter. Problem is that Khan is plain and simple just a bigger guy. Judah has no business being in there with a guy his size, just like Clottey. Judah could not even get close enough to do anything. Makes you wonder who they used for him to spar with? I like Zab but, like the Clottey fight, he looked like he just could not deal with the bigger guy. Zab could still come back in a big fight (unfortunately as a stepping stone) for guys like Kendell Holt or maybe Devon Alexander or Bradley. Khan is a big junior welter, and Zab just should be kept away from guys that are physically larger than he is.

 

If you think about it, all the guys Zab lost to fought at Junior Middleweight at some point - Mayweather, Cotto, Clottey, Spinks, and Baldomir. All guys who can carry bigger weight. And Khan is likely to join that group.
