False. Styles make fights. It would have been the same outcome if not worse. Lets not act like Floyd 10 years ago wasn't sharper also.

No. It would have been closer, and you're right that May has declined too, but any version of Mosley just lacks the tools to get on top of this match-up.

Mosley was able to beat DLH because DLH was a sucker for the right lead and because he came forward and gave Mosley opportunities to counter. (In Mosley/DLH II, he didn't, and he should have won.) Mayweather is not the same.

Agreed that Floyd's performance last night was transcendent, but the a major reason it was is that he faced adversity for maybe the first time and beat its ass. But to say he was never sharper is not true. From Corrales to Hernandez to Gatti to Castillo part II, Floyd showed his stuff. 10 years ago against Shane it would have been the same; Shane has not changed as a fighter.

People act as if Floyd is 19 years old. The Man is 33 coming off retirement. And 10 years ago....Floyd was younger and faster too. When Mosley was 33 he had already been SHUT-OUT by Skillful Boxers Winky and Forrest. Just like I thought....People will never give this man any credit.

"He hasn't fought a real welterweight"
    He'll Never fight Mosley"
"Mosley is too old & shot"
"If this was ten years ago"

Wake me up when you fools are done with the excuses!!!

Age to some degree but there was a massive change in Shanes style as he moved up to 47. Shane became flat footed fell in love with his power and thought he could blast his way through everyone.

The old Shane would fight on the balls of his feet throwing punches in bunches. The current version of Shane throws one punch at a time, still doesnt move his head and he didnt in his prime, has clearly lost a a step with an aggresive style like his and was simply beaten by the better man.

It defintly would have been more competitive 10 years ago but lets not forget Floyd was a stud when he was younger. Matter of fact i actually think he was a better fighter 10 years than now.

Floyd is simply a great smart fighter who knows how to adjust and knows exactly what to do when hurt. His confidence and mental strength are second to none. Shane on the other hand was overawed, nervous, and very tense which showed in his performance. Shane is a very humble down to earth guy and the entire buildup certainly got to him. All the guy wants to is fight. Floyd simply didnt let him.

He had his shot about 10 years ago, he priced himself out and decided to fight De La Hoya.

He had his shot 4 years ago, he went to the dentist.

So the only person to blame for Mosley not fighting Mayweater 10 years ago is Mosley.

Thats because the money was in a fight with DLH for Cali bragging rights. Back then Floyd was certainly a known quantity but the money trail began at Oscars feet and thats why Shane moved up to pursue DLH. Meanwhile PBF was still at 130.

    Younger Mayweather also beats Shane.

Closer fight but still the same result.
