IMO we're going to see PBF win a decision based on him timing Mosley over and over after the 4th round or so. I expect it to be scored about 9-3 Floyd, MAYBE 8-4. And while part of me hopes I'm wrong, I don't mind Floyd winning as that will set up a fight against Pac, which will make the sport EXPLODE.
Difference is, Shane openly shows discouragement when he is being outfought, but the real issue will be if nazim can keep him mentally in the fight and confident if he is being outboxed. If he can keep Mosley mentally strong, Shane can win.
He wasn't "out boxed" by Cotto at all. Cotto won the fight, because Shane is getting old and gassed out about half way through.
I don't recall the specifics, but I do remember that the fresher Cotto simply outworked Mosley for the most part.
Biased way of putting it. Both Forrest and Cotto punched and hurt Mosley, Vernon out of the jab and swinging freely downstairs, Cotto exploding left hooks and getting right hands from his thick arms right there in front of Shane. Floyd is a pot shot slickster who is specialized in stealing rounds... Shane can simply put him on the defensive which he couldn't against either Cotto or Forrest to start with.
Wonder how you feel about pac, He fought Floyd's left overs but for some reason Oscar and Hatton was just right for pac but washed up for Floyd lol.
floyd was 147 when hatton moved up in weight to fight him. pac fought him at hatton's best weight when pac had never been to 140 before. it was more of a risk but floyd gets full credit from most for that win. i put those two wins even, with floyd's mayweather a little more impressive at the time. oscar was a ghost when he fought pac. impressive for the size factor but that's it. but where mayweather skirted through with an underwhelming decision win, pac destroyed him it's often the nature of the wins that balances the scales
Hmmmm well Floyd beat Oscar at his weight class of 154, opposed to fighting at 147 as a dead man against package and also he haven't fought at 147 in about a decade at the time so call it what you want pal.
I think most people overlook those factors on purpose, when discussing the matter. Collazo is a slick guy who arguably got robbed against Hatton and nearly beat Berto, but was completely outclassed by Mosley because he lacked the ability hold his own in a dog-fight. All of the guys who beat SSM were able to back him up, by simply coming forward. I can't see Mosley getting out-muscled, and out fought in a slug fest by PBF the way Winky and Forrest did. As for Cotto, Mosley didn't want to get into a fire-fight with him, so Cotto was able to come forward and back him down as well. PBF simply can't beat Mosley the way the others did. This is going to be very interesting.
