Hard to pick one. As mentioned Dempsey has to be one as well as Liston. Ike Ibeabuchi also should be mentioned. Theirs very little footage of any quality for Langford but he had to be scary Chances are you were going to taste the deck at some point. Again with Robinson. Although their is very little video of him at 147 he would have been feared both for skill and one punch ending power. Armstrong was a machine. Between 1937-38 he scored almost 30 straight ko's. He was like a pit bull on steroids. Saddler is another little bad ass who would have had opponents worried prior to the bell.
as a heavyweight, he had possibly the most fluid, potent combinations ever. ali, obviously, was faster. but every punch louis threw had poison on it, even his ****ing jab
I love both Louis & Ali. Louis was pretty patient but when he had his opponent hurt he was a killer. Just ferocious.
i think al hostak, the cat that zale took the title from was more ferocious (i believe there's a quote from dempsey saying he's the most ferocious puncher he ever saw) i'd describe lamotta more as cagey than ferocious personally
