Do you remember the first time Chiquita lost, I think he was laid out for the count in a big upset. I can't recall the opponents name without looking. Pascula something?

Do you think he suffered from a weak or average chin, or was it simply a repracussion of the style he chose to fight with?

I'm going to throw Foreman-Lyle out there, even though that's not exactly what the OP indicated.

I don't think Gonzales could take it very well...sort of a front runner he was IMO. I do credit him for beating Carbajal twice subsequently by changing his style to a clever boxer. He almost reminded me of a lower case Victor Galindez...though he was no where as good as or a tough as Victor was.

What was Rolando Pascua's story? A win over Gonzalez would indicate he's just a quality performer, but I know his career didn't exactly pan out that way, and he ended up with a pretty dire record. Bad management, tough match making...?

Great comment ...praises both guys efforts. Foreman face down with blood coming out of his nose.
I remember him say post-fight something like "I knew I had to get up....my career wasn't going to end like this".

That's actually a rather good comparison between the odd boxer/puncher/brawler hybrid of fighting that Gonzalez employed to beat Carbajal in their second and third contests, and the style of Galindez. I definitely see it. What is it called... intuitive boxing skill? Learned from years in the ring. Kind of like some kind of ancient, proto boxing skill that isn't quite modern and "by the books" but rugged effective all the same...

I liked the post-fight winning in-ring celebrations with all those hot Latina ring card girls hanging all over him.

I think Salido had quite a few fights where he was losing/knocked down only to come back and stop his oppponent

He was down three times against the tough, hard punching Thai fighter Terdsak Jandaeng before rallying back to win in what has to be one of the best fights of the past 15-20 years. The Thai was down four times. Incredible fight.

He was also down against Lopez in their second fight, knocked down twice early against Weng Haya, and also picked himself up off the canvas several times, rallying back to give P4P sensation Mikey Garcia a real scrap.
