Mike Lee fought Caleb Plant for the title. The promoters loved his 21-0 record and then the fight started. I was stunned with the fact that Lee didn’t even know how to hold his hands. Plant took him out of his misery in 3 rounds and Lee never fought again. Whoever gave him that advice was definitely looking out for him

Johnny Nelson vs Carlos DeLeon. Constantly moving away from DeLeon, and threw the occasional jab when, and only when, he’d stepped back out of punching range. Staggeringly bad 12 rounds.
I read that his next title shot against James Waring was the same but worse. I’ve never been able to bring myself to watch it.
It made Lewis-Akinwande seem like a slugfest.

Bernard Hopkins had some title defenses that deserve mentioning

Oh man there are some great suggestions so far! I am going to enjoy watching a few of these later!

I will add Bobby Gunn vs Enzo Maccarinelli. Bobby was so bad he made Enzo look like a world beater for about a minute.

Another two I thought of, Dan Sherry and his horrible play acting when Eubank nutted him and Pat Barrett against Manning Galloway where he just plodded forward with no plan B for 12 painful rounds.

God these fights still give me nightmares! Fair play for Johnny for turning out to be a decent champ in the end.
