Arguello, what a gentleman and class act. Very sorry he couldn't get his illness under control.

Lewis was a likeable guy too though he appeared more aloof and he loved to talk about himself in the third person but I think the main reason he didn’t connect as well with the brits was a lot of them still thought of him as being more Canadian than British.

Arguello who has already been explained. So humble, so genuinely gracious to his opponents both before and after their bout. He compartmentalized the need to get the business done in the ring brilliantly. He had one minor hiccup but that was quickly apologized for. Great man, great fighter.

What was the hiccup that he had to apologise for?

Blaming Futch after the Pryor fight.

Arguello refused to be drawn into the verbal battle between Miller and Pryor but instead used the occasion to issue a public apology to Eddie Futch, his former trainer. Following the first fight, Arguello accused Futch of overtraining him.

'After the loss, I felt like a drowning man in the middle of an ocean,' Arguello said. 'I had to blame someone and that someone was Eddie Futch. I was trying to get myself afloat and I blamed him. Sometimes we make mistakes and learn by them. The biggest mistake in my life was blaming Eddie Futch for my loss to Pryor.

'Aaron Pryor is a great fighter and I lost to him. Somebody has to lose -- there cannot be two winners -- and I lost. That night he fought better than me and he won and I lost. Eddie Futch was not to blame. I just lost to a better fighter that night.'

Never met him in real life, but Little Red Lopez always seemed like a really nice guy in interviews.

Kevin Kelley always seemed likable, despite (or perhaps because of) his motor mouth.

Classy, intelligent, down to Earth, a great sportsman. Everything you should be.
A true champion in and out of the ring. Recently read what he went through as a result of his terrible car accident. I knew he had broken some bones but it was so much worse than that. It was humbling and at the same time inspiring to see just how much he cameback from that tragedy. He couldnt even speak for a couple of years.
If you havent read about it give it a look.. it made me ashamed ever bitched about a problem in my life.
