Marty Jakubowski is 114-7 but basically lost any time he faced an opponent that wasn't living in a dumpster.

 

I know this isn't quite what the thread is asking for, but I always thought Carlos Zarate's record was padded like hell. I know he did win the all-important fight with Zamora, but most of his fights featured unknown opponents who supposedly had records like 25-0, 42-1, 51-2, etc., but no one had ever heard of them or could confirm that they had more than a few fights.

 

alot of padded records where the opponents Micky Duff took over to Britain in the 70s and 80s some of these guys were billed as 20-2 and were really like 5-4

also didnt Pinky Mitchell suposedly have a 30-0 record going in to his inaugral challenge for the LWW belt but was later found to be like 5-2

 

In his first bout after himself getting pounded by Marvin Hagler. I didn't know Sibson fought Alan Minter? Now that's a match between two very good British Middle's.

 

In the flyweight division in those eras virtualy no fights were recorded bellow British title or comonwealth level.

To take an analogy Martin Rogans pro debut on boxrec back then would be when he beat Audley Harrison or Matt Skelton. Their records would be somthig like 4-0 or 3-1 at this point.

Above all you must consider that flyweight records erode faster than any other divisions with time.

Jimmy Wilde was a bad mutha.

No way in hell would I ever call his record padded. The guy fought and KO;d opponents much bigger than he, I'd say his record wasn't anywhere close to being padded.

And please don't mention his fight with fellow flyweight legend Pancho Villa. He was finished at that point.

 

Oh man, great choice actually.

Though he showed he was quite the spoiler when he frustrated Holyfield and Moorer. He was very, VERY Ruiz like with better movement.
