No need, the greatest P4P boxers according to a Classic posters democratic vote has already been done. Greb was #3, whilst Ali was #6 - https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/top-35-all-time-reveal-boxing-survey-series.653021/ Whilst this was a consultative process with 1 x boxing historian making the sole decision, as opposed to a democratic vote, the input of multiple posters was taken into consideration, this time Greb was #2 & Ali # 7 - https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/the-top-100-pound-for-pound-all-time-greats.459918/ If we posted a poll of Ali vs Greb in the General forum, I'd expect Ali to get the most votes. Which underlines my initial point.
I don't think either of these links constitute as a Greb vs. Ali resume poll, and in p4p considerations, there is more to consider than just the names of the opponents. Heavyweights usually suffer greatly in "all time, all weight" discussions. That Ali was even top 10 pound-for-pound is good, as that distinction was made specifically to usurp heavyweights of the "best boxer" title. Greb fought at several weightclasses, an opportunity Ali didn't have. As far as modern boxing impact, class of opposition, quality of fights, and examinable visual data, Greb is nowhere close to Ali. Even being mentioned aside Ali is overrating Greb greatly to me.
The first thread I linked had 24 x Classic Forum posters who felt confident enough in their knowledge of boxing history to list their greatest fighters of all time. Greb was ranked higher than Ali by quite a margin. My guess is a "who was the greater boxer P4P, Ali or Greb?" Poll in Classic would see more votes for Greb & in the General would see more votes for Ali. If you disagree & want to post that poll in the Classic Forum, have at it. Ali is clearly an ATG. He's in most historians top 10 P4P fighters of all time, rightfully so, imo. This means he's held in exceptionally high regard. My sole point was the general public would rank Ali higher on their list of greatest boxers of all time, than most boxing historians. Let me know if you disagree with that point.
I'm gonna dispute these. Zoo was favored to beat Hatton, but Hatton did his thing and made Zoo quit. Between Zoo and Pacquiao, he took apart Urango, Lazcano and Malignaggi in ways that nobody else had, including Cotto in Malignaggi's case. He was simply a handful for anyone without the timing and power necessary. Mares looked bad against Agbeko, but went on to have a successful career rather than proving to be hype. He won the Agbeko rematch fairly, and beat Ponce De Leon and Anselmo Moreno among others. H2H I think it's fair to say Vitali is near Lewis, but obviously has a worse resume. With that said, his comeback as an old guy is way ahead of Foreman's but nobody seems to realize it.
RU is is very good shape and works out regularly,he;s a big boy, I've seen him on the heavy bag, and I would not want those shots hitting me!
Martin was ranked when he fought Liston you dunce. https://boxrec.com/wiki/index.php/The_Ring_Magazine's_Annual_Ratings:_1968 Again, they were not remotely similar situations.
These ratings were from march of '69. He didn't lose from that point on so I'm perplexed how he dropped out of the top ten.
