Has to be speed everytime I see a new prospect come out, all I hear is "he's super quick, like a young Pacquiao or Mayweather" or the worst comparison " almost as quick as Roy Jones"

    :good

This^ but Cotto was also in trouble against against Torres and his power bailed him out in that one, so whilst Power is overrated its a great quality to possess as well.

Probably speed. Power's right behind though. I think truly feather-fisted fighters on average have a much lower ceiling than unpolished power-punchers.

They still need enough speed to use timing on fast guys. Case example can be made by comparing Cotto(e) and Juan's performances against emmanuel. Cotto(e) has always been said to have good timing, but he didn't meet the speed requirement to time. Smaller and therefore faster Juan was able to time the **** out of roidman.

Being speedy helps lands those unorthodox type of punches from strange angles that opponents don't see and can't roll with.

    Top fighters (Ring) p4p

Pacquiao has all of the qualties

Mayweather just lacks power, but he's not feather fisted. Some question his chin too.

    Sergio has all of them

Donaire has all of them. He hasn't really had his heart and chin tested too much though, which is good for him

Ward lacks power and some say chin. Heart hasn't been tested too much, but he was able to fight on after being knocked down and go through the Froch fight with a broken hand

Marquez isn't that fast. I wouldn't even say his reflexes are extra great anymore either.

Wladimir lacks chin. He's not much of a counter puncher, but I wouldn't say he doesn't have timing

Bradley lacks power and some question his chin also which I think is still sturdy.

Vitali lacks heart :rofl and he's not that fast

Gamboa hasn't had his heart tested too much. He's been down in a few fights, but I don't think he was ever seriously hurt in those instances.

So it seems like power and chin are the one to pop up most often

Save those times Pac timed him with his left hand armpunch counter, thanks to beeing faster and having better reflexes. So speed can really save the day.
