Even Benn’s NON-title opposition were better than 95% of Calzaghe’s title defense opposition - Robbie Sims, Sanderline Williams etc
So looking at the last 100 years, the era we're in right now is the weakest - by "general consensus"! And when was it your grandad boxed professionally? 1933-1950, right... oh yeah, I get it now! Now lets take a look at some of the research you have done, that makes you conclude that today's boxing sucks: below are some 'regretfully' startling stats... this should give you scope of just how far boxing has declined in both talent & 'real' comp! a sample of 50 of today's best fighters. They were all current World title holders or recent champions considered to be world cl***. Here were my findings: 74% won a world title in their first attempt 64% were undefeated going in to their first world title fight 79% of those undefeated fighters did not take part in a competitive bout before they fought for a championship 27-4 is the average professional record of the best opponent fought prior to a world title fight The average total combined record for opponents before a title is 457 Wins and 927 Losses 28% face a former or future World Champion before they fight for a world title 14% face a top 10 ranked fighter before they fight for a world title 46% face a top 25 ranked fighter before their first world title fight I especially like the bogus "average total combined record for opponents before a title is 457 wins and 927 losses". Obviously completely false - so why do you post lies like this?. The Decline of Boxing | Page 5 | Boxing News 24 Forum (boxingforum24.com) (post #69)
Wow, this is not a Dispute or Discussion. it is merely a suggestion with respect to all the many posts and inadequacies with regard to Lists & Ratings... it is a Template, consider it or not, that's you're right. Yes General Consensus - NOT Mine, Not Yours, but what you 'typically' see reported, written about and posted on about Boxing Era's. it neither troubles me, or do I care who excepts the consensus or not... that doesn't change the fact, that, yes that is the typical general consensus. use the template or not, it is merely an informed suggestion!
