Stevenson has clearly beat more top guys in his weight than Cotto has at 160. And I think most of us are in agreement that GGG would beat Cotto hands down. Martinez was dealing with injuries and age, and I felt he was ducking GGG as well. The only reason why Cotto has the Lineal title, is because Martinez didn't fight GGG like he should have. GGG is the rightful Champion of the 160 pound division as far as I am concerned. Sanctioning bodies be damned.
Martinez had strung together signature wins over both Chavez Jr and Martin Murray, 2 of the top 5 MWs in the world when they fought. Dawson was blasted out by a non puncher in Ward in his previous fight, and has shown since that he can't even beat journeymen like Karpency. While Superbiitch has some decent quality wins over Bellew and Cloud since becoming champ, which is more than Cotto has even thought about, he's also had a contract to fight Kovalev and DUCKED it. Whereas at least Cotto isnt hiding behind a promoter for the expres purpose of ducking and admits he'll toss the belt in the bin before getting starched by GGG.
