It looks like he fainted to me. He looks really tight at the weight.

Yeah, I think thats the most likely scenario.

Strange how, with his strength and chin, he didn't move up to 122.

One of Tyson's early knockouts, where he hit the bloke and he bounced off the ropes like Hulk Hogan before hitting the deck.

Definitly IMO, the way he falls just looks like he fainted.

    Slightly unrelated

In the second Chang vs Ohashi fight, nearly everytime Ohashi is knocked down he falls in almost exactly the same way he kinda twirls to his left then falls

This wasn't an unusual per se except for the time in which it took but Grimsleys actions in still punching whilst flat on his back is.

The only other time I've seen this reaction is when Simon Brown got flattened by Vincent Pettway and he also kept punching on instinct whilst unconcious.

I remember seeing this fight and felt that Mercer got about as lucky as he could get...the punch just grazed the Italian's nose but it broke it..I don't even think the punch landed solidly on the face at all or the lips....just the tip of the nose...I do remember Damiani rolling on the ground in pain.... hated to see this as Damiani totally outboxed Ray for the whole fight....

Wierdest one I ever saw was a Mickey Rourke fight held in Japan. I can't think of the name of his opponent, but Mickey and his opponent both looked horrible then suddenly Rourke threw this pathetic sloppy right (I think) and dropped the guy! The KO punch had no particular form and was quite possibly the uglyiest thing this side of a bleeding Chuck Wepner. It was a total crap fight.

Here it is. Mickey Rourke vs Darnell Miller. What a crap fight, with a crap KO.

It was a hard straight right that knocked him out.

Ottke and a "hard" punch don't belong in the same sentence, in this universe anyway.

Well it knocked Mundine's head back pretty far. Admittedly that wasn't a unique achievement in boxing :D

Anyway, Ottke scoring a KO with a hard overhand right is a bit more believable than Ottke scoring a KO with a jab!

As far as KD's that essentially ended the fight, how about Alexander's first knockdown of Urango? Urango got hit with the uppercut as he was throwing his own wide right hand; completed the attempt to land the punch, and then the effects of the shot seemed to kick in and he fell backward to the mat. Never really saw a fighter drop in that particular fashion.
