I dont think bobozo understands that when Floyd backs up he's setting traps.

Or allowing his opponents to punch themselves out

Against Chavez he was so clever, he even said in his corner that he was letting him punch himself out

some of these old school niggs is actually comfortable fighting with they back on the ropes. many people have pushed Floyd to the ropes before, but he was barely hit while they took the majority of the punishment.

Floyd ends up outjabbing Oscar in their fight

I honestly have to question those who believe Ortiz were having success if they've ever seen how Floyd fights. That he willing allows his opponents "to go to work" on him against the ropes. I.e wild misses? :think

Slugging is a young mans game. You wont see Floyd slugging it out anytime soon.

Obviously if backing up didn't work for Floyd most of the time, he would have lost decisively already. Relying on it simply gets him in trouble at times when he ought to be moving laterally considering the tools at his disposable, which is where I credit Hopkins with the superior versatility. Boxing isn't black and white, and pointing out one flawed tendency in Floyd's style is not an insult, nor does it require an army of nut-huggers to his rescue.

Again moron. He is setting a trap. He is getting his man in position where he can either tire his opponent out against the ropes, slipping his punches with his defense, or catch him coming in with check hooks. The same check hook he knocked Hatton out with, and wobbled Oscar with.

Its not a hard concept to understand. Its not a bad habit if he does it as part of his gameplan moron.

Very good pick. Pea could do everything from the outside. Threw punches in bunches, never ever seemed to get trapped against the ropes and was very underrated on the inside. Dirty muther****er aswell when he had to be. :yep
