    A lot of famous people were visiting USSR. Unless they appeared on TV and in newspapers frequently, their names were quickly forgotten. Coverage of professional sports like pro boxing was prohibited, and Ali would only be mentioned in political context, or when he visited Moscow, but then only sports fans would take note of that visit. The rest simply didn't care.
