He's setting himself up for a huge payday. Leveraging everyone against anyone now.

Smart move. I can't wait to see him fight the big dawgs. Mousasi is a beast.

  4. Theres no way he's not going to the UFC, he's too good.

However Mousasi V Fedor would be a worthy investment for Strikeforce!!!

I hope he goes to the UFC ASAP. Jokerswild, Mousasi and Fedor are very close theres as much chance of them fighting as we do of seeing Anderson and Machida fight. I dont wanna see Mousasi-Lawal or Mousasi fight in Dreams 205 pound tourney this year lets get him in with the big dogs.

You start looking at who is busy at 205 in the UFC right now Rashad-Rampage is in May, Couture is possibly fighting Franklin in June, Jardine-Bader are next winner so they could be avaliable for Mousasi, Forrest is supposed to fight Lil Nog but hes trying to back out, Liddell vs Tito III is in June, Rua-Machida II is in May, Vera and Jones are in March they to could be ready. Only big names left without a fight are Anderson Silva and Thiago Silva but I doubt the UFC would match Anderson with a guy who isnt that well known just yet among the casual fans especially while Sonnen and Belfort are at 185. Thiago Silva vs Gegard Mousasi IMO is the perfert fight its a tough guy for Mousasi in his first octagon bout but hes not being thrown to the wolves and the UFC can market it nicely as a co feauture. Gegard has a couple of wins in Pride which could be shown on the Best of Pride on Spike to promote him alittle.

I like Strikeforce alot but I dont wanna watch a 24 year old stud waste his prime in a weak divison. Strikeforce should play to its strengths and put on the best fights with the great Lightweight, Heavyweight and Middleweight divison while trying to put together a strong Light Heavyweight divison maybe get Babalu signed go after Arona etc. Then start getting Nick Diaz some quality opponets at Welterweight one being Karo Parysian. Im stoked right now Mousasi is the man ive been calling for him vs Anderson or Machida since about 2 years ago when everyone else was screaming Cung Le CUNG LE. Mousasi said before he wants to go to the UFC and without M-1 in the way why couldnt it happen ?

SF need to start tying fighters up to 5 fight contracts BUT while being open to co-promotions. That way all the Japanese fighters can still unify Dream, SF etc

SF can only try to deliver the best fights.

No easy fights. Henderson vs Shields then another big bout. Mousasi vs Lawal then another big bout. Then match them up so they are both kept happy.

I like SF but the LHW in the UFC is so stacked that there is unlimited fights available for him. in SF there is only Henderson and Lawal that are relivant fights for him.

I'd like to see him fight some of the guys in the UFC but I hate the UFC contracts being exclusive and basically owning the actual lives of its fighters. Hopefully Gegard can negotiate out of that type of bull****.

Your right he should have a contract just like like overeems and never fight if he doesn't want to:good

  12. Is it true that he only got 2k for fighting Sobral?

I hope wherever Mousasi goes, he is well rewarded financially for his great work.

It was established that M1 would pay him the bulk so he probably earned an extra 30-35k. I think it was a co-promotion so M1 had to be paying for something as SF seemed to be doing all the work and pulling all the strings. $2k is what was disclosed to the commission.

    This is what I know.

M1 had lied to him affter Affliction folded and said the UFC had only offered him 40,000. but the truth was the UFC hadn't even made an offer but were matching affliction contracts.

If you read the article you see how slimmy M1 is.
