Ali by TKO in about 5 rds.... Any pre 1976 version of Ali batters Greb into a mess... Greb never lands a telling blow...

Janitor, I think the onus is on you to explain why you think it's a competitive fight.

I don't know much about Greb (yet) but on the face of it, the match seems lopsided in Ali's favour.

I guess it all depends on how one defines "telling".

Please we're talking about The Greatest here............vs Ali. Of course the notion of the greatest winning a fight against Ali isn't illogical.

actually it was the smallish guys that gave Ali some trouble,188lb Doug Jones for one AND IT WAS 185LB Henry Cooper who put him on his ass and finally 205lb Smoking Joe who won the FOTC.....Greb was more of a big middleweight but he beat many bigger men...Jimmy Ellis had 5 losses as a middleweight (dropped by Ruben Carter) but excelled in the heavyweights....Greb's lack of power takes away some risk but his speed and awkwardness may give Ali some fits ....Ali takes it but Greb shows him a thing or 2

Ali wins anywhere from 1 to 3 rounds.Muhammad is too much for Greb to handle, and in addition, the presence of Bundini Brown would make Harry nervous.

Grantland Rice defined the word "hack". An abyssmally cheesy writer who was melodramatic to the point of dishonesty. If he is the intellectual bar to which this forum aspires, that is a sad statment of low aspirations.

One thing people are forgetting about Ali is that he was immensely strong, always ruled the clinch. He would probably throw Greb around like a rag doll, not allowing Greb to even mount an offense, all while peppering him with jabs and strong right hands, ending Greb's career around the 2nd or 3rd round.

A prime Ali would outclass him. Ali was just too big and strong, and he was fast, and he was accurate.
Greb's only chance against big men would be to pepper them with shots at full speed and not get hit much. I think Ali has to be about the worst big man Greb could attempt that against.

I don't know how long it lasts. It might even go the distance. Greb would be a beaten mess by the end of it though.
