it's inevitable that sooner or later all the greats pass away, it doesn't make it less painful for the boxing fans though..

1/8th Irish. Not that I care or think it made him superior.

    Amen.

I did shed a tear hours ago, and I did again after watching this.
The back and forths between Cosell and Ali just age like fine wine, but they have both left us:

I remember getting past his security in the 80's and my brother and I got a hug and kiss on the cheek. He picked up my lil bro and yelled to everyone "These are the champions of the future!" It was the greatest honor to have met him. His humbleness matched his greatness in the sport, perhaps even surpassed it. We're all lucky to have witnessed what he did in and out of the ring. He'll be greatly, greatly missed. QEPD

“I hated every minute of training, but I said, “Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.” Muhammad Ali

You will indeed always be the Champ, oh to see your likes in the Heavyweight division now.

Rest in Peace Champ, my boyhood hero has failed to beat the final count.

I envy those who were around to see him in his prime. I wish I had that honor.
