Ali's corner would need better smelling salts then what they used against that bald 189 lb pastry chef that turned his lights off with a left. Thats "IF" Sanders could catch him.
so that body shot in the 8th round that Mildenberger landed on Ali was a myth? You know the one that buckled him over and that the announcers said seemed to bother Ali ? See you fool ,ive actually recently watched this fight because i re scored the rounds to see what actually was what..and Mildenburger won at least 4 rounds despite Cossells idiotic commentary in all Alis fights which why i shut him off. lol Mildenberger not known to be a very big puncher"..Announcers before the fight They also said he has sufficient power to worry the champion after stating he wasn't a power puncher after round 4? "Ali looks a little worried , Mildenbergers shots starting to land more now" Announcers in round 10? Yes looks like Ali is really destroying him? The fact he is still in the fight tells you that a Sanders fight would be competitive. So in the end Ali struggles with a SLOW weak fighter yet most claim a 6'4 ATHLETIC and fast 230 pounder is no good? Ali didn't even land nearly at all the first FOUR rounds ,yet won those rounds???? He even shook Ali in the 7th round with left hook and connected with jabs through out the fight. Yet you want to pretend Ali just breezed through him.do you EVER actually watch these fights you comment on? Ali himself stated he was tough to get to and it was a tough fight. "Cassius Clay never really looked outstanding in any of his fights" Rocky Marciano...1966 Marciano would be right and no matter how you guys WANT to hype him up,the hard truth is the 70's Ali would fare much better . The fight itself was one sided after Mildenberger suffered the cut but he still frustrated Ali despite it Ali dominating a much smaller less talent, sorry that is reality again. Yes Ali outclassed the sub par talented 10 to 1 underdog ,why wouldn't he and why would a better bigger stronger and far more dangerous guy like sanders be brushed off ?
Well the Ali aura is part of it. People like the idea of an "invincible" champion that is untouchable by mortals. Sanders is my man, I've followed his career since the start and when he was at his best he was VERY dangerous. I must have been one out of a hundred people that knew he was going to beat Wlad. That said, he was also hot and cold with a couple of fairly horrible performances dotted in his career, and I'm not talking about Nate Tubbs. Where I can give Ali credit is that he trained very hard and was rarely not in tip-top shape. Sanders could have been one of the greats imho, if he'd had the hunger to live in the gym and get a better promoter. But I guess he liked his family and relaxation too much ... good for them, not so good for us. Stylistically Sanders could be problematic for Ali. His size and speed and power and southpaw stance won't have been something Ali would have seen in one package before. Corrie was susceptible to power punching on occasion, but while Ali hit hard, he didn't have the kind of power to one-shot a dude like Sanders. What he did have, however, was great ring craft and the will to dig deeper than the other guy. If Sanders doesn't bundle him out earlyish he might well have problems later.
Buckled him over in the 8th round?? That was a 10-8 round for Ali you utter fool. Milenburger got dropped and was getting slaughtered by the end of it. At no point was he ever 'buckled over by a body shot'. Ali dominated and beat Burger to a bloody pulp. There was no struggle whatsoever. You never watched any fight. You parroted what you read on the HW Blog. An Ali hate website that was rightfully deleted. Sanders wouldn't have a prayer against Ali. He had average skills , wasn't great coming forward , had no defence and had poor stamina. Ali toys with him and takes him with with a flurry of punches around the 6th round. Burger was an over all better boxer than Sanders. Don't run away again Juggernaut . Come back and accept your pasting.
You're an utter fool Ali was eating countless left hooks / jabs and losing before the cut and punch that dropped Mildenberger in the 5th,had he HAVE some power and didn't cut easy or known to not have a chin would have been hell for Ali to win.Even in the 6th round Ali missed practicllay all his jabs. He never actually had to hit ppl with his jabs as long as it came close ,it was almost always scored anyway. In the 8th rnd he rocked Ali back with left hand.continually backing Ali ( the bigger man ) up with jabs and landed another one, then as Ali MISSED practically all his jabs Milden landed another big left ,Moments later Milden lands 3 jabs and another big left and unloads a combo on Ali as he back pedals..he was winning that rnd up until he ran into a Ali punch( i didn't say he won the round ,a knock down is a two point round) and it was a flash knock down, Ali was losing that round prior to it,and the combo at the end probably hurt him more. Your just a fool looking to think Ali walked through Mildenberger but he didnt ,he had to work for the win. Pasting ? you couldn't paste/finger paint or know how to color in the lines properly my SPECIAL friend!
Sanders would k.o 60's Ali im convinced really. Ali of the 70's is a toss up. there was simply no one with Sanders speed and power that Ali had to deal with. He would not be able to take punishment and think Sanders will mentally quit, even against Vitali he went all out, what is Ali going to do if he comes like that?
At what point in the 8th round was he buckled over by a body shot? Are you aware that to buckle over means to fall down? You attempted to claim Burger turned him over with a body shot.. Now that that has been exposed as a lie you re to trying to claim getting hit once or twice is the same as eating countless punches. No , Burger landing one good punch in a round does not mean he was winning the round. The only guy eating countless punches was Burger and his face showed all the signs of it. The fight was not a struggle. Burger fought hard and never stopped coming forward but Ali was never once in any trouble or never came anywhere remotely close to losing. Ali vs Shavers was a struggle. Ali vs Burger was a one sided beat down.
Thats a pick based on pure hate. Sanders worked best off the back foot as a counter puncher.. He was terrible coming forward. Fought square , no head movement , chin out in the air , no defence. How does he stop 60's Ali when he wasn't an effective come forward pressure fighter ?
Corrie Sanders could have startled the world had he trained seriously and partied less. When in top shape, he was capable of taking Tyson and maybe even Lennox. Sneaky, quick, accurate left hand squirreled many unwary opponents. So sad about his tragic death
Got up at the count of 4 walked back to his corner. Battered him in the next round. Oh and that "pastry chef" as you call him could take your head off with his left hook.
