From what I can tell, it seems like he already did. Ali said that he deliberately played the villain so he can be hated enough for people to pay to see him lose.

This sounds a lot like what floyd does and to be honest it works quite well.

The scene in the interview where Ali pretends to count the cash is reminiscent of what floyd jr does after a big fight.

    Hold the **** up

You just said because floyd hates white people he will never get your support.

Yet you are now saying that you didn't hate Ali because, Ali didn't hate your people?

Are you really this dumb :rofl

No you didn't, you posted a video of Ali being interviewed. Your self-pwning doesn't count as proving a point.

    :rofl:patsch

Ali's point was more specified, which is that white people wanted to see a proud black man lose. Back then, whether or not he was a villain to you depended a loty on what he was racially more than whether or not he was an *******. The man was very popular in many Third World countries, for example, and people there would have paid to see him for reasons other than a perception that he was a villain.

Ever wonder why Ali was extremely well-received in the Philippines, for example?

That was not Ali's point dumbass

Ali's point was that they wanted to see a cocky black man lose. :rofl

Ali being received well in third world countries has absolutely nothing to do with the segment i posted or what he said.

The thing is, Ali laid the foundation so people like Floyd could earn money doing what he did.

Ali is funny as ****, Floyd doesn't have have of his brains or charisma but he does play the 'bad n1gger' role that some people hate. Floyd is more obnoxious and ignorant. But people just want to vilify him, he does stupid things but isn't an outright bad person. Part of it is a race issue, Jones was hated the same way and he was likable

Distinction that makes no difference, and your statement above exposes why what Ali says doesn't apply to Floyd. People dislike May for reasons totally independent of his race. Ironically, it's also a big reason why he'll never be a mainstream draw like Ali was, and that's just how it is.

Floyd doesn't have the wit or humour to do the Ali role entirely, with that being said he clearly follows the pattern Ali laid out in that interview for making money and playing the villain so people could pay to see you lose.

This is an interesting topic, because if you ask a number of people why they hate floyd some of them don't actually know, it actually comes down to a number of things outside of the ring, some of which, Ali was referring to.

" He calls himself the greatest"

    "He to arrogant"

    "He to Cocky"

" I want to see him lose".

    Ali did it more gracefully.
