MSTR take us through how he could have looked more impressive. I think you mean he should have KO'd the guy. Which is all he didnt do. Fellas you've all shot from the hip with crap because being rednecked Mundine haters watching his fights you can think of nothing but negatives. If Mundine happened to beat Calzaghe you would give limited credit to Mundine and emphasis the Calzaghe decline (see the Green fight, the Echols fight etc) Face it, your warped by hate. Its ugly and disfunctional. Mundines talent speaks for itself. But because Mundine has lip and is black you are denying the reality. He is pretty bloody good. He was pretty bloody good last night.
Here you go... Just a few words from another Mundine Hater. For my good buddy EelsRule. Things Mundine could have done better last night. 1. Chosen a better Opponent. 2. Instead of just flicking the jab out and pot shotting with it, step behind it and use it to back Neivas up. 3. Chosen a better opponent. 4. double up on the jab. 5. Instead of throwing only 1-2's, use angles, and utilise more of an inside game. When he had Neivas covering up, he should have been using combinations of hooks and uppercuts, as well as lateral movement to find opening.6. MORE WORK TO THE BODY.
7. COuntering with his lead hook or his straight right more often, instead of covering up and allowin Neivas to land on him.8. Let his hands go, throw more punches. When you have him hurt follow up with combinations. 9. Stop showboating. 10. Push the pace of the fight more. The guy has never fought past 6 rounds FFS, make it a world championship pace for him. 11. Circle more off that jab and use it to start your combinations. Look to finish up with his lead hook and uppercuts.12. Hook to the body, don't just throw straight rights, and when jabbing vice versa, look to jab to the pit of the stomach to bring his guard down more.
Technically there were an absolute tonne of things Mundine did in there that looked amatuer at times. I guess why I am so frustrated is because I know he can do so much better. A fighter of his calibre should have put on an absolute clinic and stopped him. I was expecting Floyd vs gatti type material. And in reality, looking at the two fighters thats what it should have been. But it was far from it.
Nice work MSTR......but for mine Mundine looked great...very fast...very hard to hit.....he must have landed 15 great body shots.....5 or 6 upper cuts......some great hooks....and why double up you jab if your first one lands flush all the time.....[yea I know set him up ECT]....mate he must have jabed him 100 times....credit to Nievas....he was very tough...also Mundine pulled a bicep...I think...anyway despite Mundines technical brilliance I had a great time and saw a very entertaining fight...Mundine with speed and accuracey and Nievas with big bombs....a few inches and Mundine may have done another Ottke
Eels if your happy with mediocre than thats fine. I for one have a enough faith in Choc's ability that I expect more from him and want him to succeed at the elite level. Opponants and performances like that dont help him to reach that elite level. You know EXACTLY why Nieves was chosen and it wasnt because Mundine wanted rounds or a tough fight. I cant even take your comments seriously anymore the thread wasnt even about Choc's performance in the fight, it was about the farce of the whole event being billed as a serious title fight and a PPV. It was about what Choc's intentions were in choosing an opponant like Nieves and how things didnt exactly go to plan. With fans like you I can see why Khoder & Mundine don't respect your intellect. Once again if you can truly look inside yourself and believe that was good night for Choc not only as a fighter but as a man who wants people to believe he is the best at what he does than you go on enjoying that make believe world. Because all the kudos and pats on the back in the world arent going to make Choc a better fighter or lift his reputation.
His Mandatory is overdue......so it will be interesting to see if he goes with it or worms his way out of it again. :deal
Has anybody mentioned that Nievas was another hard punching fighter that Mundine failed to put away. Mundine has done his level best to avoid the guys who can really thump hard........ In fact his record is pretty dismal reading considering Mundine has claims of being a KO artist. He has never ended a fight early against a puncher. I have always maintained that he fights "scared" if he thinks his opponent can hurt him. Check this list.......Have I missed anyone? Echols.........12 rounds win Mundine Green..........12 rounds win Mundine Siaca..........12 rounds win Siaca Kessler.........12 rounds win Kessler Nievas...........12 rounds win Mundine Ottke ........... OH Well...........Can't help bad luck......eh?
It could be because Bute is not interested in a paper title when he has earned the right to fight for the IBF Title. I don't think even Lacy was number one rated challenger...... It was vacant with Lacy being 2......Bute rated 3 ......and that Russian Dude 4.....and I forget who was rated 5. :deal
I think we will see a few aussie guys come out of the wood work to fight Nievas...try to Ko him and then try to get a fight with Mindine....I wont mention any names but Sam, Danny, victor, Les....opps I said it.
I saw it live too. It was good the atmostphere was great, and I like the under card bouts. As I said I was expecting Floyd vs Gatti, and I felt like Mundine wasn't fighting very intelligently in there. The reason to double up is to get him moving back and as you said to set him up. His hand were down, and the first jabs were landing. You start to double up and it starts your combinations off, and begins to hurt him more. I just wanted him to be more creative and less tenative in there.
All this Mundine hype about him being the best in the world is to sell tickets...i dont think he thinks he is the best....its all **** to get rich and have his time in the sun...good luck to him......
