meh. nobody really liked him in league. he was just thought of as that dickhead who's pretty good (thus disproving the notion that his idiotic behavior is to sell fights - he was like this before boxing)

mundines talent is not phenomenal. anyone smart enough to recognize what talent he does have is also smart enough to know he's a fraud.

i actually think there is an element of being "tony mundines son" playing a part is mundines success. there was a hype-fest when he went into boxing, and once that ball got rolling, it hasn't stopped.

Despite the fact his next few fights are not on the true world stage they still hold interest: can he make 154 and pick up another belt? the contender winner back at super middleweight, rumours of sturm in the US and then there is always the possibility of geale and green rematches.

The mundine show in 2010 may not be what was promised in 2009 but the immediate future is interesting despite this, he is still your most talented boxer and if vic/katsidis could make mundine type money fighting in australia i'm sure they would because boxing is a business.

Though you would think Mundine would have ambition to fight in the states in the immediate future, given he has yet to fight there and keeps bringing up Pavlik, Winky and Paul Williams every fight.

Vic and Katsidis rarely fight in Oz but you'd imagine they would love fighting overseas for the attention boxing gets compared to here.

 

Can he make 154 is a big question. He didn't even make the agreed 74kg last time out and had to pay a penalty fee to his opponent after making him fight at 76kg.
