I was thinking the same. Dorticos was bombing away from his comfortable range.

Absurd. Heaviest he's ever weighed is 209lbs. Post evidence to the contrary or stfu.

Gassiev took a couple of rounds off in-between, he started a bit slow too. Nothing to be particularly suspicious about IMO, ok all fighters are suspicious but it wasn't that incredible stamina.

Yes, but I shouldnt throw sh1t on a fighter's name when there are no proofs and he's been tested, and he has never failed a test. I was just shocked with his performance, I didnt expect such a brutal display of power, that's all.

luckily Dorticos didn't take anything too vicious after the first knockdown punch. he may not have awoken until next week, if ever. props to him for helping make it a great fight but Gassiev is clearly a level or two above insofar as both offense and defense.

Well big muscle doesn't equate to punching power. He does have a very weird build though. His arms reminded me of Trinidad's. Dorticos almost looks like he should be cutting down to 175. His build is kinda slim, but he isn't ripped up.

Dorticos didnt know how to solve a more or less easy to solve problem. One cross first, one upper later. He F up everytime gassiev used this combination. Not being able to adapt to that (simple?) combination/trap, lost him the fight imho. Plus I dont know why he stayed in the distance when he was not attacking nor defending, there was no point to stay in the distance.

    Good fight, really good fight.

Dorticos fought with a chip on his shoulder, I'm not implying that Gamboa, Lara or Rigo had it easy, they were treated like traitors in Cuba but Dorticos didn't had the olympic champion treatment of them, he had to grind for this chance and for him was either win or die there in that ring, tough fighter I hope he is okay.

We got a damn good fight in the finals boys. Usyk is the better fighter skill wise, but not by much as Gassiev is also a very technically skilled fighter. Both guys like to start slow and adapt to their opponent, but the main difference is Gassiev has stupid power, while Usyk is a bit of a soft puncher.

If Usyk wins he’ll probably use his height and range and pick Murat apart from a distance, if Gassiev wins he’ll pressure Usyk and stay close to him while throwing those big uppercuts and left hooks.

True, those body shots were brutal and those shots to the head must have been chipping away at Dorticos' reserves the way he was physically being moved by some of those hooks and uppercuts, that's going to take a toll eventually, as we saw.

Gassiev does eat the jab a lot but other than that he does catch shots nicely on his gloves. I guess he leaves a big gap for the jab so he can see the other power shots coming.

I had expected Dorticos to find a way to sneak uppercuts and right hooks around Gassiev's guard but Gassiev was never close enough for Dorticos to land them, his judge of distance was superb. When Dorticos did try the throw the right hook to go around the guard he had to over reach and it took all the power out of the shot and Gassiev would just lean back a little to catch it on his gloves.

And yeah by the 10th Dorticus was just too tired to defend himself.

Now days you'd hate for a guy to get a brain injury. Dorticos kinda earned the right to go out on his shield though.
