McAllister was nominated by the BBBofC. In other words, Murray has no choice of opponent here. If there was no English title, I reckon a better opponent would have been put forward. Maybe Gethin or someone like that. McAllister will likely use movement to stay away from Murray (given how strong Murray looked vs Meager & Hickman). So it should be at least a decent exercise in wearing down a boxer who doesn't want to trade shots. I'd love to see Murray v Thaxton. And Murray v Gethin. Gethin has been a real surprise and seems to keep getting better. Good to hear it's in Manchester. Murray can start building a good following. Really promising fighter.
I was shocked Murray won the purse bids as Lee can sell alot of tickets here in Aberdeen. I'm going to make the trip down to Manchester, any idea how big the venue is and what its like for boxing?
The venues pretty big i'd say, been there for music gigs but never boxing. Thinking of making the trip up myself, really like Murray and its a few days before my birthday, weekend in manchester maybe if its a good undercard.
Manchester is not a huge City Centre so yeah, it's a 5-10 min walk from pretty much anywhere central It's the old G-mex Eubank, McGuigan and various other big fights have been held there in the past I'm sure
