This only works if you think he deserved to win both Taylor fights as well as the Calzaghe fight. The Taylor fights, he wasn't a clear victor and the Calzaghe fight he arguably quit feigning a low blow and getting a long, much needed rest. The Pavlik and Tarver performances were great. Wright good too. Bernard wins the "year for year" rankings easily. What he has done at his age makes him a legend. But I can't see putting him ahead of Pacquiao. However, you probably feel that Marquez beat Pacquaio at least the second time. I don't. But even so, that should lift them both over BHop anyways. I don't know its all so damned arbitrary what the hell are we talking about.
Trinidad wanted to fight Hopkins...not Hopkins fault he floored Trinidad and the fight was stopped :nut
But I am sure after the fight Bhop said something along the lines of "I am the greatest P4P fighter ever, i won the Jones fight the ref knew i won the Jones fight, I am a legend." after the Trinidad fight it was like he got pissed off if people would't call him legend, or future ATG.
The Taylor and Calzaghe losses were close enough that he could've won, but as I go by the official results, the Pavlik win puts him top 3, plus the fact he's never been stopped and has always been competitive in his losses, and that they were to top fighters.
similar to Mayweather Jr. talkin **** saying he would beat Sugar Ray Leonard in his prime atsch...guess the ego just builds up but hey, @ least Hopkins still fights and he's fought very good opposition. i still don't get why Roy Jones Jr. doesnt want to rematch Hopkins!!

P4P list must be based on accomplishments, not the love for a fighter. Now I know Hopkins is adored to the point of nuthugging here but to put him #1, let alone top 5 is ridiculous. 1. Pacquao 2. Juan Manuel Marquez 3. W. Klitchko 4. Dawson 5. Mosley 6. Calderon 7. Darchinyan 8. Israel Vazquez 9. Hopkins 10. JuanMa 11. Rafael Marquez 12. Paul Williams
