i cant remember man, it was when i done my PT course i was in the college where i done it because one of my tutors was standing beside me i cant remember if it was the internet or textbook but my tutor went through it with me, its always stuck in my head because i see it most weeks in training and i always explain it to people, some lads been throwing punches in my mma club all wrong for years now and i just give up trying to get them to do it textbook, its far easier showing the guy who walks in off the street for the first time. another thing i noticed is some of the guys can adapt and change but it takes time and effort and some guys are just so stubborn and they prefer the way they have doing it because the new way feels so alien, they then get frustrated because they find it so hard to change small aspects of their punch and dont bother take it on board........wankers
found this jeffro, its not originally what i saw but goes into detail on muscle memory for when wrong technique is performed first and recorrecting occurs, its the last 4 paragraphs of this piece that touches on that subject http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-muscle-memory.htm what i read was info on a survey done with the two different sets of athletes, im pretty sure its in my literature from the course, ill have a look in that stuff tomorrow and post it if i find it
Hey BB check out the book 'Motor learning and performance' by Schmidt and Wrisberg if you can. I really wish every body who trains anybody could read that book before they start out. All the information in it is backed by studies which you can look up yourself, some really eye opening stuff in there I found :good
