Shogun doesn't beat Bones at any point in his career, I don't think. I don't really see what he could do differently.
If Rua kicks Jones he ends up on his back 100% of the time. That is why he didn't kick IMO. It was all in the game plan. Like I said Jones will not be in Rua's range due to his long reach therefore Rua always has to feign to close distance to get in striking range leaving himself vulnerable to the TD.
