To fully appreciate, you have to dig deep and sometimes the most obscure fighters uncover something revealing, something new about boxing you never known before whether it may be a different boxing style, different technique.
In truth, the first Holyfield-Moorer fight could have gone either way, and it was apparent that Holyfield was experiencing some sort of unusual physical problems in that fight (probably an injured shoulder). The only world class fighter sanders had fought prior to the Wlad fight was Hasim Rahman, and Sanders got knocked out. I have watched Sanders fight, He is not what you make him out to be. I also watched Sanders get dusted off in 2 rounds by the ATG Nate Tubbs. Wlad fans try to make sanders out to be some freak of a nature to cover up for there insecurity of wlads knockout loss.
While I don't often agree with Suzie, he is right about Sanders standing going into the Klitschko bout. Prior to receiving the offer, 10 fighters had turned down opportunities to face Klitschko. Sanders was more or less a fill in guy, because no one else would take the fight. He was supposed to lose to Wlad about as fast and as badly as what actually turned out only in reverse. Sanders was plagued throughout his career with injuries sustained during both fights and training. He had never really beaten a world class contender going into the Klitschko fight and was often criticized for his opposition. I do however feel that he was a better fighter than his credentials show. He was a fast handed south paw with great power who I think a lot of world beaters feared, perhaps explaining why he rarely got fights against named contenders. It was a bad loss for Wladimir, but it shouldn't be viewed as acareer destroying set back.
