He left the gym some time before Vasquez 4 (i think) , as he wasnt getting the attention he needed from Nacho , and stated that his Brother is the top dog in the gym and he understands but its time to move on .............

Perhaps, it's his mistake not to fully speak through Marquez before agreeing - likely thinking based on their past 30(?) years together, he's cool with it - but still Nacho was put in this position in the last moment by Marquez if we can believe the reports, he was likely preparing for the Maidana session as much as Maidana himself when word came.

So how would you have handled the situation at that point?

Marquez knows Morales is going to beat the **** out of marcos and doesn't want nacho to get embarrassed.

If I was Marquez I would have handled it the way it appears he handled it. If I was Nacho, I would have been less short sighted and forsaw that since Maidana is up and coming, and fighting at 140, and Marquez is jumping to 140 soon, then there would be a conflict of interest.

He let a future star in Mares go just because his new management group was the same management group who managed Izzy, Rafa's opponent.

Nacho ****ed up plain and simple.

I was suprised for obvious reasons when I heard a couple of days ago that Nacho would be training Maidana......

......something smells however that there was a misunderstanding and we're only hearing Maidana's side of the story.

You would think that if Nacho was going to take in another fighter that could possibly be a future Marquez opponent, that he would consult with Marquez first......

.....and for those dissing Marquez because of this.....its incredible how many people will try to invent a fault and try to discredit him for a decision he made thats in his own best interest.

If its how its being painted (and I have my doubts that it is)......then it would be that Nacho agreed to train Maidana.
JMM upon hearing it, confronts Nacho and voices his displeasure........
Nacho then likely makes the decision and tells or has Maidana told, "Sorry, but its not going to be able to happen."

Now, if Nacho does'nt like to be told what to do by a fighter he trains, he can diss JMM and do what the hell he pleases.........but likely he came to his senses and saw it from JMM's perspective.

If it happened like its being reported, I would hope Nacho is man enough to apologize to Maidana and at least compensate him for his troubles to make a waisted trip to the Romanza Gym.

if nacho trains maidana, you best believe he's gonna pick up some good pointers while in camp...might even make him an all around better fighter.....JMM seen that, and knows he can very well end up fighting maidana down the stretch, so of course marquez dont want someone in his camp that can be taking notes down for a potential match up...common sense, dude

jmm and nacho dont have the average trainer/fighter relationship, nacho is like his dad and jmm is a son to nacho :good
