I watched this fight as a Margarito fan. I'm embarrased by his performance and now find it very hard to believe he actually beat Cotto.
I know that styles make fights but I have to wonder what was in Margaritos gloves the night he fought Cotto.

Mosley vs Cotto, you saw shane come on at the end of the fight but Cotto boxed him beautifully even then and clearly won the early rounds.

Margarito has NO FOOTWORK, no movement.........and just plods straight forward and backward leaving himself wide ass open to be hit with anything including the kitchen sink, He has NO boxing skill sets whatsoever, has no idea how to slip a punch and from the looks of things no ones ever explained to him what an angle is.
He fluently made a punching bag out of himself tonight and was severely brutalized, even worse than what he pulled on Cotto.

I have a feeling we've seen the last of Mr. Margarito.........and you might note that at the end of the fight....Margarito made no mention of fighting Shane Mosley again..........which speaks volumes.

He was beaten badly and he knew it and wanted no part of Shane Mosley ever again. He's gone from the most feared man to the most fearing man in boxing.

The one person other than Shane Mosley who has been smiling since the fight ended is Miguel Cotto.
You can bet that this is inspiration for Cotto to come back and also knock Margaritos ass out.
    Which I think will happen.

The thing is though, Margo could of been fighting Cotto with pillows on his hands and Cotto would of still loss. Plaster or no plaster, Margo will always have the advantage over him. He just doesn't have the endurance, compared to guys like Williams and Mosley.

Maybe the Cotto fight did take something outta him. He showed no strategy other than to take Shane's best shots. Absolutely no movement like you said. I'm not sure how I never noticed until tonight. The way he went out tonight leaves little doubt in a comeback for him unless he gets a new trainer.

No, Marg is not done. Not by a long shot. He just got beaten by a talented fighter who fought the perfect fight. For Christ sakes, looks who was in his corner. Hopkins and Richardson. Two PhDs of the sport.

Marg still towers over most WWs and that's where his size and chin can be utilized. Against Mosley, it wasn't because Mosley tied him up 25% of the time and the other times, he boxed Marg from the outside.

That's what I was thinking at first, but I'm worried that his brain wont be able to absorb shots like it use to. Plus that mental edge and stronger heart he had over his opponent is gone. Of course on the other side, this loss might make him train harder. Also Remember people were mentioning that he was looking out of shape and was maybe enjoying his post cotto victory a little too much? Never the less, it should be exciting watching his next fight.

As far as the illegal wrapping being responsible for the destruction of Cotto, will see in the rematch if the wrapping had anyting to do with it or not.

Now Shane gave a tremendous performence against Margarito and I was happy considering I picked him, although he won in such convincing fashion that I didn't anticipate and was enough to get rid of the bad taste out of my mouth after his last performence against Mayorga. I don't think Mayorga is that much better than Margarito so what do we attribute Mosley's bad outing against him? I'm guessing the blood blisters Mosley had on the bottom of his feet seems more credible, hmmm???

Agree 100 percent. He looked like the worst "elite" fighter I have ever seen. His chin was his greatest weapon and that shits gone along with his legendary stamina. Damn what a let down...... The tornado is done.

All of the things you said about Margo I have been saying for years. He's limited as hell and got by being bigger than everyone in the division, loading his gloves and the ability to take a decent punch. He's a fraud.

Mosley hasn't been whooped like this. It will be hard for Margo to come back from this ass whipping.

Margarito's had flaws that were obvious for some time. Clottey and then Williams showed Marg was not invincible. Marg is still a handful for anyone, I'm sure of that.

You just found out about his endless flaws?, how were you exactly his fan?, or were you a fan of the "Most feared mammoth of a beast on the planet EVER" failed hypejob?

We have mentioned his flaws A LONG time ago, only new stuff revealed today is that he can't take a punch and taunt with a smile against A class opposition and someone that will give him punches from angles he's not used to and doesn't expect. Even though Mosley was SHOT he still had WAY more than enough for someone as flawed as that.

I think that the main reason for Shane's poor showing against Mayorga was the simple fact Mayorga came to fight 10 pounds heavier than Mosley.
