Ooofff I might be cheering for Mayweather here. Hamed has a chance with his power and wierd style but you have to favour Floyd pretty heavily. I don't think Hamed is going to be able to land cleanly on PBF very easily.
Watching Floyd time Hamed into oblivion would have been worth sitting up for. He'd have had him on his arse every round from the fifth onwards - and Hamed was no mean fighter.
As long as Floyd is okay with losing those extra 2 lbs, he should beat Hamed handily. He was simply bigger and better.
You must've never seen Floyd fight at 130.................he would've ruined Hamed. Probably would've forced a ref stoppage after dropping Hamed 5-6 times..........
The last part of your post made me laugh but it's actually so true in all honesty. I think Hamed does get underrated here because of his cocky demeanor, but he wouldn't stand a hope in hell vs Mayweather.
No way would he. If I picked up anything from who Floyd struggles with it's pressure fighters and unorthodox fighters. If Maidana is landing on him, so will Naz. If Floyd is struggling with Augustus, he will struggle with Naz. And Naz was a much bigger puncher than anyone Floyd faced down there. Naz has the ultimate punchers chance.
Floyd is a heavier guy with an edge in height of about 4 or so inches and about 8 in wingspan. The guys who gave Floyd the toughest fights were usually guys who applied pressure, and could outwork him, as Floyd was selective with his punches. Hamed didn’t fight in that manner. He wasn’t a pressure fighter nor did he have a high workrate, he was more of a super unorthodox counterpuncher with a ton of power. The good life was apparently getting to him as he was not known to have the best training habits, and was better with Brendan Ingle. But even during his peak years, he still showed some of his glaring flaws with his balance and defense. The way Medina kept hitting him with the right hand, I see Floyd having a field day with. Hamed may go into more of a defensive shell and lose a wide decision, or take more chances and get stopped. He was a very good fighter, but Floyd was simply bigger and better.
Hamed is one of the most overrated fighters on here but I understand the British love of him. Mayweather was a terror at 130. What he would do to Hamed wouldn’t be pretty to watch.
If Marcos Barrera gave Hamed a boxing lesson, imagine what a better skilled, ( Than Barrera) naturally bigger and faster Mayweather Jr . Would do to him at his best fighting weight, Jr. Lightweight. May Jr would totally white wash Hamed, stopping him with in 8rds. Easy money.
If Nas makes all of the mistakes against PBF that he made against Kevin Kelly like pulling back with his chin in the air then I see PBF getting the knockout.
You act like you didn't see that fight between Hamed and Barrera. If Barrera made him look that bad, what do you really think Floyd would've done. Floyd would have embarrassed that fool and knocked him out.
If Mayweather is feeling in a particularly charitable mood, he might allow Hamed to buy him a cheeseburger at 3am after the fight.
Hamed gets frustrated early on by the defensive capabilities of his opponent. May land a couple of odd angled punches that he was well known for, but then gets cocky and pays the price. Hameds defense in my opinion was flawed and would have been exploited here.
I agree Mayweather would do whatever he wanted with Naz at SFW. Perhaps some people overrate Naz H2H, but I actually think his resume most often gets underrated. I've often read variations of "he lost to the only good boxer he fought". Naz lost to the only ATG boxer he fought in his sole career defeat. Aside from that, he fought 8 x FWs ranked in the top 5 in the world - Kevin Kelley, Manuel Medina, Wilfredo Vasquez, Paul Ingle, Tom Johnson, Vuyani Bungu, Cesar Soto and Steve Robinson. All but Soto (clear decision) were stoppages and all but Kelley (KO 4) were 1-sided dominations. I can't think of another FW in history who beat 8+ top 5 ranked FWs whilst losing no more than 1 fight. Naz doesn't belong in an all time top 10 at FW (he's my #19) and isn't a p4p ATG, but honestly, in an historical FW context, his record was at least decent.
