Nate Cambpell suffered a vitreous hemorrhage

Again Cotto got an eye injury too. Look at the blood eze and you tell me the blood didn't go in his eyes huh? Right now i'm watching Cotto vs Clottey at the end of the 3rd round on my dvr that i record and the Blood was coming in Cotto eye and the eye was mostly red in which that is very very dangerous. So you going to tell me Cotto didn't have no spot at all in the eyes? Come on man. And when the 4th round begin after the bell ring, the fans was standing clapping very loudly mainly cause Cotto didn't took the easy way out.

 

That's correct. I did not want to see Nate lose his eye, like some here. Nate's haters are not worthy of carrying his jock strap!

 

Firstly, the problem was inside his eye, not behind it. When it was stopped, the doctor had no way of seeing any blood.

The symptom Nate complained of could have indicated something permanently vision threatening AND showed that he couldn't see properly during the fight. The fight ends for both of those reasons.

In his specific case, I don't know if he would have been at risk of losing vision if kept fighting because I don't know the extent of the injury and I need more schooling. It's kind of like if a person complains of chest pain--it could be huge or it could be nothing. Nate's injury was "something" but it could have been worse.

 

I have mixed feelings about this. I do like both of these fighters a lot. Nate I have grown to appreciate a lot over the years.

This will be turned into an NC. Yes, he could have fought on, I think he would have if the vision problem was caused by a punch. I think Nate in his head knew that he was in for a tough fight that just got a lot tougher due to that last head butt, because he couldn't see, if Nate's statement is to be believed, the hospital report backs up there was evidence of damage to his eye.

The ref ****ed up. It happens. He should have stopped the action after the butt or at least after Nate was yelling at him with blood coming down his face. But he mistakenly thought it was from a punch. This was a mistake caught by the cameras. Bradley's dominance is clearly after the butt.

I am not entirely objecting to someone believing that Nate bailed out of a tough fight with some bull****, however, I don't think this is on the level of "faking" an injury. The butt was real and a heavy impact butt and there is evidence of eye damage assuming Nate's report is true.

Would Gatti have done this? Nooooooooooooo. He would have come roaring out for that fourth round trying to take Bradley into hell. Even if he was half blind, he would have told them he was fine.

But this isn't Franciso Lorenzo (who actually has a dubious W, some would say, over Nate) seducing Chavez into DQing Soto. Its not on that level because it is at least partially legit, maybe completely.

Rematch with a sharper ref.

One other thing though, you have got to believe that Nate, if he was going to win, would have kept fighting. I think he honestly thought to himself, "**** this headubtting from Tim and a ref that can't even see it, I'm behind on the cards probably three rounds to nothing, I'm having vision problems and I'm in his hometown about to lose a UD and any chance at another big payday"

In any event it is going to become an NC. The cut was caused by a butt that the ref missed, and the butt is the likely reason he could not see.

There is a danger here though. Everyone behind on the cards before the end of four who gets a butt can pull this card.

 

And Cotto wasn't bleeding insane from the end of the 3rd round all the way to the end of the 12th?

 

Nate could have lost his eye. Have his haters had a career any where near Nate's? It's so easy for them to say he should have given his eye up for their pleasure, but he has a family. Nate was cheated like Hell.
