I thought he was loosing the Braehmer fight before it was stopped, made me cringe to see his wild celebrations after. *especially for the WBA reg.
He was definitely losing the fight and he knew it. Imagine the elation when you can feel a fight slipping away from you and then your opponent retires through injury. It's a get out of jail card. Going to be a good rematch. Juergen Braehmer is quality but how will that injury have affected him, could his elbow slip out again?
I wouldn't celebrate too much and raise the arm of my opponent. Not a legit win until he beats him in a rematch or a credible contender. Had the cheek to call him an old man in the post fight interview too.
Cleverly might have been losing the fight but his gameplan was spot on IMO. Similar to Crolla v Barroso he was trying to outlast Braehmer and let the old man empty his tank. Round by round it was evident that he was growing into the contest.
