Eddie makes an interesting point in the most recent interview at the weigh-in. Seen as Kugan (as a journalist) wants Eddie to be transparent about his business and openly stated he didn't want the Hearnmeister hogging Sky dates, should Kugan in turn be transparent about his business (iFilm London) and how they generate a profit. Why is Kugan so reluctant to answer? Then again, I feel bad asking this as I love the work iFilm do, both Kugan and James are brilliant for British boxing.
In that video, Eddie still a bit sore about Kugan saying he prefers the older Sky model of several promoters. Eddie has paid for iFilm travel expenses to Belfast, New York etc so I suppose he assumes the psychological contract is that iFilm big up Matchroom in return. To be fair, aside from that remark, iFilm have mostly bigged up Matchroom - I might be wrong, but I cannot recall iFilm expressing the same level of dissent regarding Matchroom's stinker card at Wembley? But, I guess Eddie wants iLove 24/7 since he is putting his hand in his pocket for some of their travelling expenses, hence his question to Kugan 'how do they make money'?
iFilm have really carved out a nice niche for themselves... they would be doing great in a popularity contest, but how do they make any money? Also where is Jane couch lately haven't seen her on an iFilm London interview for about a year, she was always doing them, although i do think Kugie does a better job than couchy...
Definitely, Eddie would definitely know how iFilm makes money. They both read the forums and he's taking the **** knowing full well Kugan wouldn't answer on air. I like iFilm's boxing coverage, it's fresh and unorthodox. It works, you get serious answers and the banter showing their human sides. Even Johnny Nelson came across a lot looser than he does on Sky.
I reckon he could get a little bit of cash from putting an advert on his intro, he gets regular viewers so why not?
True. The interview with John Simpson is a good example. Simpson is very understated and a bit serious with all of the boxing questions and then a bit of banter at the end and he breaks out in big childlike chuckle.
I am not really bothered how they make money but the way Kugan treats the question makes it seem a bit shady
