I disagree entirely. First off, Pac doesn't have a "home market" when it comes to PPV because that medium doesn't exist in the Philippines. It's free TV in Pac's country. Second, how does Pacquiao deserve ZERO % of UK PPV share? Ricky just fought Malignaggi on UK PPV and it did between 80 and 200,000 buys. He fights Pacquiao on PPV; odds are good that fight does a million. You guys in the UK are saying Hatton can fight anyone and draw aces, and that was true with live gate vs Lazcano, but that and the Malignaggi fight did not do superfight PPV #'s. They came out in huge #'s to see him fight live, but didn't feel the urgency to pay to see him on PPV if they weren't able to see it live. Nor did they feel the need to cross the pond for his fights vs Collazo or Malignaggi, which definitely makes you believe they won't travel as far or order PPV unless he's in there with a marquee opponent. If 800,000 more Uk fans order the PPV to see Hatton vs Pacquiao than they did to see Hatton vs Lazcano, Collazo or Malignaggi, than damn right Manny deserves some percentage points. Nowhere near 50%, however.

For the record, I think Pacquiao is a bigger star internationally, but Hatton brings in as much or more $ with his tremendous UK following and the absence of Philippine PPV. I think Pac should get more than 50% of US PPV, and Hatton more than 50% of UK PPV $. But if Ricky is fine with taking less than 50%, why should YOU have a problem with it?

I just wish they would keep it out of the media. Negotiating a fight via press releases is pretty unprofessional if you ask me.................

55-45 is best for the pound for pound
He earned that title by fighting best boxers, fruit of his sacrifices.

Source is a little suspect. It sounds to me that Pac is lowering his expectations rather than Hatton increasing his offer. Even the must ****witted negotiator wouldn't offer 52/48 and then say but we could go to 55/45 :-(. This stinks of Pacman trying to save face. Pacman kowtowing to the cash cow.

Something's (or someone's) gotta give, arrogance and/or overstated self-worth notwithstanding. :yep Heck, e'en superpowers like the US bend to 3rd world despots (eg. Nokor) at the negotiating table....

    Agreed. :good

On the other hand, all these could be seen as a publicity ploy albeit on a negative note. (Boxing misses the bad boy anti-hero element, what with Tyson's & FMJ's retirement. Hatton & Pac are both too nice and iconic to their fans). Publicity nonetheless. The pissed fans will flock and bring even their mommas to the show just to see one beat the shits out of the other who is perceived to be the greedy and/or the disrespectful one...

    WAR!!! :happy

Hatton needs to wake up. Maybe he does deserve 50/50, but even a 60/40 deal will earn him more than any other fight, plus will give him the chance to be recognised as a top p4p fighter. Pacman can go elsewhere - fight at 148 or take on JMM again.

JMM is busy and Pacs not fighting anyone else at 147.

That's funny...if that's what Hatton really agreed to...sounds to me like he's bending a bit because he doesn't have any better options :yep

Or at least something as massive as this

Without Pac... there would be no fight. 50/50... both are well classed fighters...

    Hatton's old man
We have the offer of another massive fight in the summer, in the British Isles, which would bring a crowd of 80,000 or more,” he said. “We are extremely serious in our threat that we will pull the plug on Pacquiao and go for that alternative if that contract is not signed. We will not be messed around.”

plz ...Pacquiao puts ass in seats and coronas in yo hands.

pac has the better resume and has done more in the boxing world, plus hatton is still naturally 2 weight divisions bigger..... not to mention hes pound for pound #1
that deserves a little bit more
