Yes but not all of them fight safety first like rigo. PAC was going for it hard when he ran into the shot. Rigo has been backing up and gotten dropped kind of hard. Rigo fights like every landed shot has HIV . Floyd actually takes shots pretty well.
What burns me I guess is resume is part of p4p so I rate Hopkins and PAC and floyd very high for years and years of dominance and good wins. Marquez hasn't accomplished what PAC has but had his number so I put PAC higher - he is more dangerous head to head against other guys. Just like srr is more dangerous than basillio and Duran more deadly than Benitez. Rigo had no resume except donaire, and I was never sold on his p4p qualifications. Just like tarver didnt deserve the number one spot after taking out jones.
Martinez was coming off major hand & knee injuries which he aggravated in the Murray fight, Floyd doesn't have that excuse.
1. Floyd 2. Ward 3. Pacquiao 4. Bradley 5. Marquez 6. Maravilla 7. Rigo 8. Mikey Garcia 9. Wlad 10. Maidana
1- Ward 2- Hopkins 3- Floyd 4- Pacquiao 5- Rigondeaux 6- Klitschko 7- Bradley 8- Martinez 9- Marquez 10- Lara
And fighting bums as he still is today. If Vlad belongs on the list then so does Sturm and Stieglitz. :yep
The reason why Rigo, although one of the best technical fighters today does not yet make it near the top of the top 10 p4p list is simple to comprehend. To gauge a fighter's pound for pound status correctly, he has to have faced a large pool of different A/B level styles to gain a real estimate of his true p4p status. To date, Rigo just doesn't have a large enough sample set to really determine exactly how good he is. The same is true for GGG, Kovalev, Stevenson, etc. Vlad doesn't belong on the top 10 p4p list simply because he doesn't possess great boxing skill. His primary advantage is his size and the low B level opposition he has faced. There is not one A level opponent to be found on his entire resume.
