Hypothetical. Say you had to send one fighter, any fighter, from the planet earth to represent boxing. You had to pick one human being on this planet, the best boxer you could find. I'd pick Floyd, how about you????
Well personally, I believe Marquez won the fight and it is very disputed. It's the same case with Izzy & Rafa, yes Izzy won the trilogy but there's nothing to seperate them, hence why I & Beware have them very close in P4P terms. It wasn't like Manny was miles ahead of JMM that he couldn't be caught. Diaz wasn't an impressive win, and I'd pick a host of people over the Oscar that Manny fought, including JMM. Marquez's wins over the lineal, yes past prime but still lineal champion, not a paper champion like David Diaz, is a good solid win, not spectacular but solid. Better than Manny's win over David Diaz. And then his win over Juan diaz was a better win than Pac's over DLH in my opinion, therefore he overtook him. However, if Manny beats Hatton, he shall regain the #1 position once more.
I don't agree with Mayweather being at #1 I have to say. Yes he may come back, but the fact is he is at present officially retired. And therefore he's not active and can't be placed in the P4P rankings. He can come back at the top when he returns, but for now he can't rank there. If you put Mayweather in you might aswell include Muhammad Ali. He's still alive, yes he's retired and won't ever come back, but nobody knows for sure yet if Mayweather will, it's possibly, there's been talks but nothing concrete. When a fight is signed, then he'll return to my P4P rankings. Until then, he's not included.
my top ten. 1. pac This content is protected This content is protected 2. jmm 3. hopkins 4. mosley 5. vasquez 6. williams 7. calderon 8. rafa 9. vic 10. dawson we need some pictures here to put delusional people into their senses
floyd is probably the best boxer but pac or jmm resume wise is above floyd as of recent. p4p ranking are evaluated not only on skills alone but what have you done as of present.
PBF can not be ranked in the p4p rankings until the fight is over...consider pacquiao, the ring and any other boxing body do not rank him as a 140 pounder despite having an upcoming fight with hatton
On recent accomplishment, because he hasn't been active since 2007, probably not at #1, unless Hatton beats Pac, and therefore Pac would drop slightly. If Pac beats Hatton, he is unquestionably my #1. And then Mayweather would probably slot in at #2, just ahead of JMM. If Hatton beats Pacquiao, Mayweather would probably return to my #1, and it would give his win over Hatton more credibility aswell, while JMM would probably stay in #2, just ahead of Pac again, who this time should slot in at #3. Those 3 guys are MILES ahead of everybody else at the moment though.
