dude the man just treated Shogun like a $3 hooker! I honestly don't think there is a light heavyweight alive that will last 5 rounds with him. That is saying something!
What you think he could do to hughes/fitch is irrelavent in the end of the day he beat Penn TWICE and in a clear cut fashion both times. ATG status Penn is miles ahead of Edgar and i agree he is a better fighter overall but that doenst change the fact Edgar beat him so he goes higher up the list theres no room for interpretation on it.
Your criteria is idiotic, what age are you, 12? You don't put a guy near the top of the p4p rankings because you think he's a smashing fighter. You can put him atop of a list of your favourite fighters for that reason, you could even put him atop a list of what you think is the best fighters in terms of ability, but that's a ****-poor reason to put someone in the upper reaches of a p4p list. P4P is about resume, consistency, ability, recent form, etc. There are several factors to take into consideration, and in terms of resume, consistency, dominance, championship credentials, longevity etc, This content is protected
There is always room for interpretation. I don't think Edgar beat Penn twice. I believe Edgar defeated Penn in the rematch, and more emphatically than I had Penn defeating Edgar in their first fight. I currently rate Edgar just above Penn p4p. I also consider Edgar to be an undersized lightweight that could campaign a division lower. That is not quite the same as Penn competing at 170, but it's at least half as impressive.
1. Anderson Silva 2. GSP 3. Aldo 4. Jones 5. Edgar 6. Penn 7. Rua 8. Maynard 9. Fitch 10. Dominick Cruz
Lol :good The one thing I could never understand about p4p list is the fact that most of the guys on the list never changed weight. Lol So from what I understand it's just a persons interpretation. Depending on website, magazine, etc.
