Fair play to your credentials, I respect a fellow amateur. I still think your argument is insane though. Did you see Itauma's punch technique? His right hook was almost always thrown as a gazelle punch which massively drains your legs. He jumps with his punches because he needed to reach Hrgovic from out of range. As someone who often has to fight as the smaller man, closing the distance by exploding with a counter and then having to defend afterwards is exhausting and hugely taxing on the legs. Conflating 400 punches thrown with your whole weight behind you where you need to get quickly in and out of range to a guy like Arreola languishing on the inside and throwing a thousand slappy arm punches is ridiculous. Conflating running at an even pace for something like a marathon to the short, explosive, and sporadic movement of Itauma I think is also an asinine point, since the two actions not only are completely distinct but use entirely different mechanics and muscle fibres.

I would agree that Moses fought stupid, that he paced himself like an amateur, that he didn't work anywhere near as hard as he should've in camp, and I would agree that he panicked at going late into the fight. But that man was not getting about to miraculously get a second wind, and he sure as **** didn't quit. If that was a performance then Itauma really should quit professional boxing and become the next Daniel Day-Lewis. He was breathing heavy in the corner from the first round onwards. He was obviously exhausted and more exhausted than I've seen any other fighter be (which, admittedly, is his fault for pacing himself like a moron but was also down to his body betraying him, he looked like he was having an asthma attack in the corner ffs).

Some of the names from the Lewis era top 10 as per the Rings annual rankings... Maskaev, Jefferson, Golota, Byrd, Mcline, Oquendo, Johnson, Moorer, Briggs, Grant.. what's so great? Yes it had Tyson & Evander but they were past their best... Tua? Beast HW but far from invincible look what Byrd did to him.. the idea that it was vastly superior is nonsense.. at the very top end it was possibly better depending on how u rate those versions of Field, Tyson & Vitali but overall there isn't some vast gulf.. Usyk & Fury could hang in that era just fine with ANYONE.. & Hrgovic, Dubois & Kabayel etc are more than as capable as men like Briggs, Maskaev & Grant LOL..
