What cotto don't realise is if he stays in the pocket and tries to throw that many punches, mayweather will time him and land something big just like he did against oscar del la hoya. That counter punch he gave oscar would have knocked down most guys.
Even if Cotto doesn't win, as long as he looks good and competitive, he will remain a force in the division.
:good Good eye , I didnt pay close enough attention, but I think your spot on about the footwork. Cotto going to be switching up angles in this fight which is a good idea.
cotto has no chance against floyd. he was chosen for a reason. Pac already destroyed cotto when cotto was in his prime.
if they are really preparing for floyd like that with him walking around with left hand down and his right hand up then their in trouble but they wont be like most of these things its just for the cameras the real work will be painstakingly crafted away from the spot light! cant wait for this! :happy
I'm REALLY looking forward to watching this fight now. Cotto is going to be in great shape but Floyd is going to destroy him.
something about this fight i dont know just intrigues me... at times i say its gonna be a beat down by Floyd.... then a few momemnts not long i think "WHAT IF"...what if Cotto is just that guy with the right mindset and trainer and the stars align. I always think RJJ/Tarver II...i never saw that one comming even after the first bout
Watch how reluctant cotto is to throw a combination at floyd when he is made to pay dearly for his misses. By the 6th round cotto will tell himself that he would rather lose a UD, than push the fight too much and go out on his back.:deal
Neutralizing the right hand and working on the nuances of fighting in the pocket are necessary preparations that I'm sure are being done behind closed doors. I'm not sure how effective they'll be in the ring, but it's not something that can be reduced to a warm-up or conditioning drill. I doubt the plan is simply to beast out like that against the ropes.
This is a great opportunity for one or both of these guys to shine. It's just, my money is on Mayweather to win.
Diaz is so cold and calculated, Its hard to believe any angle and motion will be left untouched. The man is a serious key to victory for Miguel.
The key for Cotto will be if he can make any adjustments when he needs to bc we know Floyd will make them time and time again.
looks like miguel will be hunting mayweather....i think that is his only chance....tremendous pressure combined with body punches...thats the key to slowing may...not give him a chance to think....
