That would be perfect, then Beebs and Ajax would say soccer kicks are awesome. Which would be a miracle.
What exactly are you doubting? Pride was well known for not being the most honorable negotiators or timely payers. What I am talking about though is the taking the fighter purse at the refs whim. Have you seen Yoshida vs Gardner? I assume you haven't, because otherwise you would see that the system lead to unfair punishment.
You really have a hard on for me and Dana, don't you? You turn arguments that are about a wide variety of topics and reduce it to "Dana is evil, hur dur." Honestly, you are just intellectually lazy. It's not that Pride were the only org to have fighters fail drug tests or miss weight, the issue is that it only happened when they left Japan. Don't you think it's a little suspicious that not one single fighter ever missed weight once in Japan? Overeem at 205? Yoshida at 205? Gomi? Mach? Or do you believe that the Pride fighters were just more honorable and always made weight?
Because the UFC doesnt have fighters that were on gear or missed weight? Now your blabbering on about fighters missing weight  Strawman at his best. Go away you impetuous little man your boring me.
No, you're missing the forest for the trees. The issue isn't just that nobody ever once missed weight or tested positive. The issue is that those two issues show that there was absolutely no regard for following any sort of rules, no problems blatantly influencing fights in an unfair manner, no issue with doing anything really. When the most basic issues of fair play are ignored, its safe to say that many other issues that are more important, like the outcome of a fight, might not be treated with quite the sporting ideals it should be.
Beebs, you should know if you make any logical arguements it will only be responded with name calling and childish rants.
I don't mind them but I doubt they will ever be sanctioned in NorthAmerica. That will give too many people a reason to call mma "human **** fighting".
The ring has its advantages and disadvantages. Kicks to a downed opponent should be legal. I loved UFC and Pride. If I had my druthers - I would love to see a unification of all of the rules presented in a cage surrounded by Pride style pageantry. The card system did seem like a good incentive at the time - but it is unfair to the fighters to lose 10% of their purse. I remember Bas Rutten bitching about that at times. The UFC bonus system is a better idea by comparison. Guys know if they put on an exciting fight, they can win not one but multiple bonuses on one night.
Id like to see the PRIDE rules inside the octagon.... I prefered the cage to the ring but I prefered PRIDE rules to UFC rules. Guys like Shogun & Wanderlei have lost their best moves due to the rules in UFC, kicking & stamping on heads... thats real **** right there - Shogun still seems to be doing ok tho.
