Gotta go with the more modern fighter. There have been way too many improvements in strategy, technique, conditioning, nutrition, etc. since the Paleolithic for Valuev to have any kind of chance here.
To beat valuev you had to kinda get close to him and work the inside. Guy had an 86 inch reach. Truth was far more mobile and had a superior left jab but it would be a hard fight to win from the outside and he wasn’t really an infighter. Nevertheless I’ll give him a chance at taking a narrow decision. Valuev wasn’t terribly aggressive or powerful to take advantage of Williams’ shaky chin
Williams was a million times better boxer of the two in every possible way. Fast, skilled and sharp. Valuev, slow as hell, had a big advantage in height, weight and chin. I think Williams outboxes him but gets robbed like Larry Donald.
