Do you think Mir should have got it? It was a lights out ko with the knee.

KOOTN = Knockout Of The Night

It was technically the only main card fight that qualified, wasn't it? I've heard pretty much nothing but bad things about the main card.

The Mir - Cro Cop fight was atrocious, almost lkie a hard sparring session. I think it's a good thing that Mir did not get any extra money. It was a terrible event and If I lived in America and forked out money to watch it I would not be in a rush to do so again.....

Yeah but the award is for KO of the night and nothing else. In that respect it was clearly a devastating ko.

CC was so defensive. As soon as he opened up he got put to sleep.

Aside from the lackluster main event I thought it was a very entertaining card all the way through. There were rough, tough fights all night long.

I liked the Serra Lytle fight, because I'm very familiar with both fighters strengths and weaknesses. Clearly, Serra made the decision to not fight on the ground, and stood.

But overall. The event makes me realize how flawed MMA scoring is right now. Watched two guys who got their asses kicked get victories. I've decided I'm not going to pay for cards anymore, even if my favorite fighters are on them. I'm doing this because I cant stand the rules/scoring as they are right now,and spending money on my favorite fighters in my eyes only helps MMA along the wrong path, because the org collects more of the money than the fighters I support.

If I support my favorites in another way, I'll do that. Maybe a money order to their home address.

I thought it was a rather boring card but that **** happens some times. Dalloway's guillotine was pretty awesome, though.

Not every card is going to be stellar to watch. I was smart enough to see this one at a bar.

No he wasn't!!! Nobody was pushing the action. How can you say that when Mir lamely pushed CC against the cage and stood there basically halfassing it for half the fight. This fight was terrible and Mir was only slightly more then lucky to land that knee.

But more to the point if it was the only KO of the night I would think that he should get it. Why didn't he?

It's the way for White to say "that fight was ****" by giving the $ to 4 fighters who put it out there and really earned the $$$.

Dunham/Sherk and Mitrone/Beltran was wars. Lytle Serra was very entertaining and Bader and Nog showed their repsect for their position by not letting it all hang out.

Far from the worst UFC. But the main event was awful.

Watch the post fight presser on the UFC site and you can feel White seething.

A fight can be poor but its clear that Mir was still trying to finish it otherwise you don't fire a knee off when someone is firing a hook at you. That's dangerous. However, in taking that danger he got a good ko and should be rewarded for that. In fairiness it was a poor show but he fought someone who was defensive and saved the fight from being a complete bore by finishing it.

I ancient Rome, there used to prod gladiators with heated irons to get them to fight. Maybe that would be the answer. Am sure Dana would aprove.
