As long as the 3rd fight of Haney’s deal with TopRank leads to a match up against one of TooRank’s top dogs like Loma or Shakur or maybe even Josh Taylor, we can live with the rematch.

One sided and not exciting are two different things. Usyk brought a decent amount of aggression and there was tension whether AJ would finally land then once he was pretty well broken it was whether he could go the distance.

I would much rather rewatch Usyk vs AJ.

    Neither rematch is necessary TBH.

Not only should there be no rematch, the whole idea of rematch clauses needs to be dropped.

Whyte should never have had a second go at Povetkin. Wilder should have had to earn his third bout with Fury.

If a rematch is to happen, let it be on its own merits rather than a hostage-style clause in a contract.

As someone who was pulling for Kambosas, and hoping he would take the fight to the somewhat sleep-inducing Haney, after watching the fight unfold, it is clear that there is an enormous skill gap between these two. Haney won AT LEAST ten rounds, maybe all twelve.

At least Canelo ( who was also close to being shut out) had the sense to NOT exercise his rematch clause, a clause that should never have been there, especially as the fight was for Bivol's title.

George's enforcement of this clause is bad for the division...there are more interesting and more important fights to be made at lightweight, fights that won't happen due to George's desire for another big $$$ fight.

I can understand his desire to be "set for life" but I would like to see rematch clauses gone from the sport, except in very exceptional circumstances.

Whether or not there is a rematch should be determined by the nature of the fight, and by that criterion, there is no need for Kambosas-Haney 2.

I wish it weren't happening. Kambosos needs to reestablish himself first. The fight was not competitive. On the other hand, Kambo discredited himself and couldn't get a big money fight against anyone else so this is by far his best option.

The bad news is that we'll be lucky if this rematch occurs before the end of the year, which means we are unlikely to get Haney/Tank or Haney/Loma until next summer at the earliest. Too bad.

Zero need for a rematch after that utter schooling.

Honestly, I don't know how they'll sell any tickets in Australia to the farce or how ESPN can sell commercials. Everyone knows Haney will literally win all 12 rounds.

But what reason does Kambosos have to NOT enforce it? whatever monies can be cobbled together for the rematch is still better than anything else he could do. Last payday for quite awhile until eventually one day all the belts get released.

The rematch happens or Devin departs for Junior Welter. 41,000 turned up which is enough to ensure we get a return fight.

This time around, let's do it with Australian judges & an Australian ref. Get rid of that South American stooge who wanted to hog all the screen time last weekend & let the fighters' fight.

We can use that bloke who did the Big Daddy v Junior Fa fight. Devin won't have to worry about an early stoppage.

I'm gonna guess that Kambosos won't enforce the rematch immediately. The look on his face after the fight spoke volumes, he knew he'd lost and it wasn't close. I'm assuming his management isn't stupid and know that Haney's style is just one he can't handle at present. Also I can't see a rematch drawing near as much interest which means less money. Take time to heal and let Haney fight a tough fight or 2 Loma? and return with a match he can look good in and use leverage to get a shot at the winner, heck Haney could lose to Loma or Tank.

Haney landed about 3 more jabs per round than Kambosos. Both landed the same amount of power punches. Don’t see it as some sort of masterclass by Haney.

Kambosos has a $4m guarantee on the rematch. He isn’t going to drop the rematch. The bigger issue is what kind of job Dibella did for his guy as if it’s not water tight bob is not putting that rematch on.

bob and Dibella I believe have the option on Haneys next fight. The Kambosos rematch will not break even and will be run at a loss unless it can really be sold between then. Lou and bob don’t want to take that hit and know a Haney vs Loma fight is a nice easy payday for all involved.

Will be interesting what happens from here as a second loss to Haney for Kambosos does not put him any further back than he currently is and likely nets him his biggest payday besides a two rematch. If teo can pick up a belt very quickly it wouldnt surprise me if bob and Lou try to sell this to George. He won’t give up the rematch otherwise as it sets him up forever.

It’s going to be interesting that’s for sure as a lot of bobs shows have been running at losses this year for espn.

It was in the contract so it has to happen and George will knock him out this time.

It'll be the last chance for Kambosos to ever get paid that big again.

Not like Haney won a close disputed fight because of judges scorecards, scoring wise this was a blow-out as George had no answer.

Why do this again except for the money?

Exactly plus far less clinching, high activity and Joshua had a mid fight surge before being overwhelmed

I feel kambosos could do better i mean maybe fighting at home in front of a huge crowd got to him. Strategically he fought a horrible fight

Maybe he can bring it more and tighten up his punches and surprise haney. Its a long shot. First fight was a boring fight and one sided no real need
