    i go by lineages myslef but definitly a fighter makes a belt these days

    surely his wife wears taht one :good

    The WBA has shamed themselves with the handling of the score cards in the Valuev vs. Holyfield match, and declaring Chagaev champion in recess, but not allowing him to put his title on the line in a unification match vs W. Klitschko.

    The truth is, all of the organizations are lacking. There is little difference between the WBC, WBA, IBF, or WBO. Top fighters have held all of these belts.

    Instead I look for 3rd party opinion consensus of Ring Magazine, Box Rec, and Fightnews.com. These three, though not perfect are the new gold standard for proper rankings in modern boxing.

    The Ring Magazine belt is the best as fighters must win it in the ring, and can't lose it outside of the ring due to politics.
