I think being the former Undisputed Cruiserweight Champ gives him some kind of bargaining power when looking for contender staus in the Heavyweight division. Most people never have an issue when a champ from a lower division moves up to take on the or a champ in the division above. For example, I don't see anyone moaning about Nate Campbell moving straight up to fight Tim Bradley, no one was screaming that Shane Mosley wasn't worthy when he jumped 2 divisions to fight De La Hoya, so why shouldnt Haye get a shot. He is bringing much needed excitement and attention to a division that every single boxing fan has pissed and moaned about for years now, and suddenly we want him to get in line so several more boring fights can take place Who else has a legitimate claim to being a worthy contender? Haye mayt not have beaten anyone of note at HW but he has been at the highlest level, fought world class opponents at CW and held several belts. Arreola and Johnson have yet to fight anyone close to World Level, Eddie Chambers is probably the one who can argue the most about being top contender, but I think Haye can put accross a much more solid and legitimate argument that 95% of the HWs out there
Is this a joke? Chambers and Povetkin are by far the best hw contenders. They have quality fights and wins against legit hws. Haye and Arreola are hypejobs who have fought only bums and hasbeens while looking sloppy and rubbish in the process. i reckon Vitali will effectively end both their careers :deal I guess getting floored by beasts like Barrett and Walker impresses people :yep :yep Wlad definitely has the tougher road against Povetkin and Chambers. Haye/Arreola will be Vitali's easiest fights in a long time.
Haye - former Undisputed linear CW champion- a hype job? Was Evander Holyfield a hype job when he moved from CW to HW? Arreaola, at present, is a hype job because he doesn't have a championship track record. Haye's, whilst short, is still more impressive that what Arreola and Johnson have done combined. Chambers does have a case, and Povetkin, but Haye brings something that they don't, he brings hype and attention, exactly what the former Blue Ribbon division needs. If he gets beat so be it, at least he wasn't sitting in his own backyard fighting has beens and never gonna bes to pad a record. He won the belts at CW and then made a mission statement than he was going to clean up at HW, and he is making the moves to attempt to do that. We bemoan fighters who get belts then just take easy, winnable fights, so why are we bemoaning a guy who is sticking to his word (injury apart)
"Haye the savior of the HW division" Haye is a "Flash in the pan" and it will be proven on Sept 12th when Vitali KO's his ass:bbb
Depends how brutally he was hyped. Besides, Holyfield actually achieved something at heavyweight, which is the actual reason he's so revered now. Haye has done nothing, had two fights at heavyweight and failed to beat a good name. Haye has a big mouth, and the heavyweight division needs something other than a big mouth. The man doesn't even say anything noteworthy.
Heavyweight hypejob. yes..where are his quality wins against hws? He had the chance to fight Eddie Chambers instead of Barrett, but went with the path of least resistance. Jumping from CW to HW aint the same as moving 3 or 5 pounds in the other weight classes. Beating guys like Enzo or Mormeck doesn't suffice imo to call him a contender. He's now fighting guys like the KLITS who are 50+ pounds bigger, not to mention are far more skilled than his cw victims. So when he's called the Savior of the HW division, then i consider that a hypejob :deal If he could get a win against guys like Chambers, Povektin, Chagaev, Brewster, Gomez, Thompson, Valuev, etc...i'd rate him
I'm not going to search for the exact thread where one of the posts you mentioned Hatton was an ATG but I will show this thread you started. I happened to subscribe to it because it was waaaaay too funny. This should give everyone an idea of how horrible a poster you are. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=148350
Haye may have held all the cards at cruiser, but it doesn't mean he can queue jump for a HW title shot.Basically Haye has a punchers chance at beating a Klit (small chance) and if he fought more fights at HW in the meantime theres a very good chance he'd be KO'd,thats why he was fast tracked to a title shot.

Yeah, there's no other contender like Haye - I don't think any HW in the division has a glass chin quite as bad.

Haye has no Chin and no heart. He is going to get his Glass Jaw shattered in brutal embarrassing fashion by Vitali Klitschko.
