This was his scoring bud... 1)10-9 Wilder 2)10-9 Wilder 3)10-9 Wilder 4)10-9 Wilder 5)10-9 Fury 6)10-9 Fury 7)10-9 Fury 8)10-9 Wilder 9)10-8 Wilder 10)10-9 Fury 11)10-9 Fury 12)10-8 Wilder Absolutely incredible. He must have had his eyes painted on.
I'm getting it at 7. Obviously he won the 9th and 12th by virture of knockdowns, so he won five more. I'll need to watch the fight again to see if I can find five rounds for him. Sometimes on the night we find it hard not to have a bias. Still, my memory of 6am this morning is that I gave Fury 3 of the first 4, and I thought they were obvious.
The rounds were extremely difficult to score, Fury did the classic spoiling whilst wilder pressed the action although hit thin air most of the time. The stats showed at the end Fury had landed about 20% more punches than Wilder but factor in 2 knock downs and wilder being the champ and on home soil I think a draw was actually ok
When was Fury spoiling the fight?? That was something that surprised me actually, he barely clinched, he kept Wilder busy all fight and made him miss. There’s a handful of posters on here who are satisfied with the draw but I notice they’re the same people who didn’t give Fury a hope.
He didn’t engage, he fainted and moved and any time they came together 9 times out of 10 Fury was well out of the way Wilder was throwing 3/4 punch combos and Fury just covered up, he did try to give it back but having very little success apart from some soft back handed jabs. Don’t get me wrong Fury did way better than I thought but people crying about a robbery?
I think there was an argument for wilder sharing or edging I think it was the 2nd rnd.. But to score the rest of wilder is blatant cheating. And before anyone says I'm burthurt I had money on a wilder ko.
Yeah just said in that in my reply to twenty... I think I gave wilder the 2nd round there was one round in the openers he took.. The other 3 were clear fury rnds
By the way people are claiming robbery one would think that Fury had Wilder holding for dear life in every other round. Fury's defensive side was great, but his offensive was lacking, he could have pressed the action a bit more in order to get clearer rounds. The way he wanted to win this fight as the away fighter will never work if you can't avoid getting knocked down.
Come on bud, that’s not spoiling that’s elite level boxing skills. Wilder didn’t throw any combinations, he threw single shots throughout the fight. It was Fury who came forward throwing the combinations (jab, jab, straight right then switch angles). Wilder was baffled, over extending on his shots, getting impatient etc. The only time he throw more than one shot in succession was when he was windmilling to try and finish Fury. 182 power shots thrown by Wilder, only 31 landed...Fury landed 38 from 104. Draw my backside.
The card that's off is always usually like that. Try to build a lead in the preffered boxers favor so they can still pull it off for them as the fight goes on. He,d have given fury the 12th if no knockdown. Knowing wilder would still have got it by a point and it makes the card closer . Wilder getting the knockdown in the 12th showed it up as the corrupt card it probably is.
Its not uncommon to see corrupt cards in Wilder fights it just normally they fight doesn't go the distance so those card don't come into play... Look at Ortiz lol.. Bottom line is that Mexican Judge had his card filled out no matter what the reality..
The 115-111 judge was obviously under the thumb of Finkle and co. He'd been wined and dined and leaned on in a manner that has sadly become commonplace today. But he was Mexican and we can't expect any allegiances there. The surprise for me was the Phil Edwards card, 113-113, which equally had no basis in reality - but you would expect a British judge to afford the benefit of the doubt to the British fighter. Was he overly concerned with appearing impartial to the point where he gave Wilder points he didn't deserve? Or was he simply paid off as part of a split decision draw plan? I know where my suspicions lie. US boxing at this point has a serious problem with corruption. We've seen it several times this year. Decisions follow the money, not the action. It's not the state commissions to blame, it's the promoters who at this point have very little to lose by making overtures towards fight judges. The idea that the staging promoter picks the judges is outrageous - even without any explicit corruption, you're asking the judges to pick against their employer's investment in the case of the house fighter losing. It's a huge conflict of interest.
Absolutely horrendous corruption and corrupt judging has been going on for a long long time in boxing. In 1999, Lennox Lewis fought Evander Holyfield for the first time in the USA and won clearly 10 rounds to 2 but was given a draw. Now Tyson Fury won 10 rounds to 2 (maybe 9 to 3) but was dropped twice and was given a draw, so its not as bad a robbery as that. They organised a rematch in the USA where remarkably they actually gave the decision to Lennox Lewis, despite it being a lot a closer and Lennox winning in the range of 8-4 or 7-5 in rounds. Look at Kovalev vs Ward 1 and 2 and GGG vs Clenelo 1 and 2 recently, that was enough to turn alot of fans off boxing. It is what it is, and its not going to change.
I've yet to see anyone who believes Wilder won the fight show their scorecards, nor break down the round and explained how he won.
I had FURY winning , after da second knockdown I didn't know witch way it would go . Fury did good , will be World champ very soon .
