I'll stick by what i said, 50% of all Tszyu's fights were against world champions. His first was in his 4th pro fight, Chavez would have struggled at any time with Tszyu, Chavez's record is padded with 50- 60 cab drivers. It's a stupid thread anyway.
At the time Judah was undefeated and was the favorite to beat Tszyu. Mitchell had not lost for 7 years before facing Tszyu. Miguel Angel Gonzalez had only lost once to DLH and drew with Chavez. La Porte was beaten in his 4th fight. The list goes on, Mosley dodged him by going straight to 147lbs DLH missed him as well. I give credit to Chavez, he wanted the Tszyu fight and the WBC were going to strip Tszyu of the title if he didn't fight him. Most importantly Tszyu was the first fighter in 33 years to unify the 140lb division. I can't help but notice how many careers go down the toilet after losing to Tszyu. As for credibility, Chavez lost his by not fighting Whitaker again!
Chavez wins a tight UD. Anyone who thinks that Chavez would make an easy night of Tszyu is basing too much on his loss to Phillips.
How many times did Tszyu fight Vince Phillips and Ricky Hatton? I can count the number on no hands. Huge difference between drawing (I'll admit it was a loss) with Whitaker and losing to Phillips. As someone stated, Tszyu's best win is Sharmba Mitchell and Zab Judah. Wow. Even if they were favoured to beat him, that just proves the ignorance of the boxing world at the time.
How bizarre! According to this logic you rate Hatton's win over an old Tszyu but not Tszyu over an old Chavez? Tszyu beat both Mitchell and Judah who were the best in their division at the time, what has happened since is irrelavant. Tszyu pretty much ended both their careers!
Chavez Would Have Had The Same Result With Tszyu That Hatton Got Except It Would Have Been After Just One Round.
