I totally agree with you on Lesnar's stamina. But I'm not sure if Nog has got enough left to get him into the championship rounds. Would be an interesting contest.
Well you can never count out Nogueira. He took quite a bit of punishment standing up vs Tim Sylvia just about a year and half ago and took that into the 4th right ? Maybe it was the 3rd im to lazy to check.
Would he win that battle though ? IMO Nogueira has the better striking although he will probablly hit the deck atleast once. Lesnars instincts are still to go to the ground we saw that in the Mir rematch and thats agianst a incredibly dangerous BJJ guy who already tapped him.
Good Point. I think Nog's standup is better yeah, but Brocks power is more dangerous. So really Brock can afford to mess up a couple times, but if Nog forgets to slip once he's on his ass, as we've seen in every one of his UFC fights so far, the difference is Brock is quicker and more aggressive then any of his other opponents so if he dazes and drops him I think the fight will end seconds after.
Nog is a submission genius, and Lesnar is still too inexperienced not to give a fighter the class of Nogeira an opening, but the only way the fight will go to the ground is after Brock lands a huge shot and pounces, the question is whether or not Nog can shake the cobwebs enough to find the submission while Lesnar's pounding on his head. The punishment Lesnar dishes out is on another level, and even when there's an opening can Nog capitalize on it.
Well just last week Big Nog was done, now he is great again. Oh well you are only as good as your last fight.
Everything is possible in MMA, but judging from recent performances, Lesnar is the overwhelming favorite. Due to Nog's recent performance against Couture, everyone seems to have forgotten the fact that he went life and death in each one of his previous UFC matches. Nogueira is probably the second best MMA HW of all time, but his clearly past his prime now.
Exactly. Not only that, but Lesnar is not Sapp; the two are nothing alike. Sapp is strong with no clue how to fight, Lesnar is stronger with very good skills. People seem to forget that Nog got dropped by Herring and KO'd by Mir; well both of them got dropped immediately against Lesnar. Nog may have the crisper boxing, but it just doesn't matter, if Lesnar lands anything at all really Nog is in huge trouble. Nog's submissions usually come from obtaining wrist control, which usually involves taking a beating in the process; when he can't get it (Fedor fights) he gets pounded on. Yes Nog survived Fedor's GnP, but he no longer has that chin, plus it isn't out of the realm of possibility that a 265+ man with inhuman strength hits harder than Fedor.
